Question 1

How can these bags be cleaned or washed?

Accepted Answer

Yes - washing machine- I live alone and found that these bags did not work for me since I buy in small amounts

Question 2

can I still use them in refrig?

Accepted Answer

Potatoes and onions are both suppose to be kept in cool, dry areas. Refrigerating any fruits and vegetables that you don't buy in a refrigerator section st the grocer, loses flavor and life span by being refrigerated. I go by how the grocery store keeps them. Tomatoes are not refrigerated at the store, therefore they are not refrigerated in my home, UNLESS I know that I won't use it before it goes bad and I'm trying to prolong life span. Tomatoes lose flavor after refrigeration. Same with potatoes, onions, garlic e.t.c.

Question 3

do these have something to hang them from, or must they sit on the ground?

Accepted Answer

There is a drawstring cord that you could use to hang them. I will say, the picture makes them look bigger/longer than they are. I measured mine and they are about 14" from drawstring to the bottom of the bag. But they are very cute bags. I'm pleased I ordered them. (I haven't had any problems with sprouting or rotting, either) I have them in an open basket on my microwave cart shelf, so you can see them. I got them for the "look." My daughter even commented how nice they looked....so they would look nice hanging.

Question 4

What size (dimensions) are the bags? They claim 10lb capacity--whatever that means--but give no dimensions.

Accepted Answer

The bag is 14.5 inches tall by 10.5 inches wide - I am sure 10 lb. would fit in them. I no longer use mine.
Did not find that they were as advertised. I live alone and now buy less potatoes than when I had family home..
