Grand Theft Auto IV

I'm a 36 year old man. I play video games occasionally. I'm mostly into sports games, but sometimes i'll get the urge to play an action game. The only other action games I've played are the Drake series and Infamous. It's difficult for a video game to keep me entertained. Eventually i'll see repetition and I get a little bored, leaving the game for weeks at a time. I gotta say, I wanted to play GTA 4 almost everyday. There are dozens of missions, all with their unique dialogue, unique scenery, unique characters. This game felt A LOT like a real movie. In fact, I'm surprised there is no GTA: The Movie. There is so much to do in this game and you can do it at your own pace. When i didn't feel like shooting people down and just wanted to take a break, I'd take a taxi(or steal a car) and go to the comedy club or cabaret show. These are actual shows. The comedians do about 5 minute sets and it's pretty funny stuff. You can go many times(i think 6) and never get a repeat performance. The game is long, and along the way you make some friends, or acquaintances. If they end up liking you enough(by hanging out with them at strip clubs, bowling, shooting darts, comedy clubs, etc), they'll do you favors. One guy will sell you weapons for cheap, another guy will detonate an explosive for you on one of your missions, another guy will send a couple of his buddies to help you kill an enemy. That was just one small detail that I thought was brilliant. You can go on the in-game internet and find women to date. You can buy ringtones on the in-game internet. The list of things to do is endless. If you're not into wasting time and want to go right through the missions, you can do that too. There are about 15 different weapons to choose from and you can get them anytime. If you don't have the money to buy them, you can find a map online and search for the hidden weapons. The coolest weapon, a rocket launcher, is found on a tiny island out at sea. You actually have to swim to get there. A lot of the negative reviews say "if you don't complete a mission all the way through, the game makes you start all over, frequently having to drive 10 minutes just to get to the mission!" This is only true if you drive to the mission yourself. Instead, get a taxi! When you get in the taxi, the driver will ask where you want to go. Choose where you want to go from the list, and just click x as soon as he starts driving and it'll skip right to the start of the mission. Sometimes reading the manual goes a long way. The acting is incredible. The different environments are incredible. Graphics are really good. Not super duper excellent or anything, but close enough. According to the stats, i've been playing this game for 58 hours. If i wanted to, i could still shoot birds around the city(there are 200 you can kill), find side missions(there are random guys on the street who ask you to do favors for them), date some women and have sex with them(you don't actually see niko getting laid, but you hear his woman having an orgasm--of course she could be faking it), hang out with your friends(strip club, bowling, grab a bite to eat, etc), or just go around the humungous city killing people and running away from the cops. A definite masterpiece. I cannot WAIT for GTA 5.

I love grand theft auto. I know you do too. When i played san andreas, it gave me a feeling no other computerized game has given me. I was literally clapping because it was simply brilliant. Moving forward, after some years i heard of gta iv. I was like, oh my they have done it again. I can't wait to get it. I eventually didn't get it in a rush. But mid this year i got a brand new HP laptop i had always eyed. I got it June 2012 but i had eyed it since 2011. I bought it for college, games, music and others. Its not top of the line, but it is fairly great. With 6gb of ram 500gb hard drive Quad core accelerated graphics that speeds up to 2.5ghz when needed. But its stated speed is 1.6ghz. Graphics resolution at only (1366x768) WINDOWS 7 I decided to get gta iv. Looked no further than amazon. When i saw the number of 1 star reviews, i said to myself. Hell no. There is no way i will crash my computer over something that will not work. Sorry gta iv, another day. I never gave up. I did alot of research. Top reviews were from 2008 and 2009. Most said it cant run on windows 7, others said it can run but do this, then that, then this then that. While some said it will work. I was like huhhh. Should i try this???. I said screw this im getting it. I love gta and its the only game i play other than soccer. After 29hours of download i was at 99%. 1% left. My internet froze. Because my provider was doing a maintenance. I was soo furious. It came back, but lost i connection with amazon. I called them they said i may have to re download. I was like whhaaaaattttt!! Another 29hours. But then he told me gta iv was not compatible with windows 7 due to the number of complaints. I couldn't believe my ears. I had to delete everything. I still didn't want to give up. I then came across ROCKSTAR tech support number. They told me that it was compatible with most windows 7 pc. I was soo happy to hear that. I then redownloaded. After about 30hours. It went through. I opened the game file and voila gta iv was about to start running. I download the updated patch from rockstar website cuz it is needed to sign into games for windows live (GFWL) and yes you need GFWL account for you to save your progress. After every thing, it was working crystal clear smooth as silky milk and no lags. So to all gta lovers who are scared, dont be. It can run on most Windows 7 pcs. However you should make sure you have a good pc. Here are some requirements i think you should follow At least.... 6gb of memory 400mb of dedicated memory A good processor preferably AMD cuz its better for gaming. Its speed should be up to 1.8ghz. 2 up or down this may be fine. Good hard drive space Patience. Goodluck with your download. Thanks to Amazon tech support. They are great in responding well. Buy from amazon people .. Thanks to rockstar tech support cuz they guided me through too. If my review helped you, thats good but if you still cant get it done, perhaps you have a laptop thats too old or not strong enough. P.S get this to the top so people like you will get the word.

Brand new like it was 2008. I highly recommend the seller to anyone considering purchasing this gem in 2026.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. there is a lot of stuff you can't do in GTA IV that we were able to do in Vice City,San Andreas and III, spaces are very limited and you there is no airplanes. Graphics are a little better, but vehicles graphics are very bad. San Andreas's was way better. and also the mini map is very bad, hard to read. but it has a very good story. but this time. the protagonist is a foreign. and its really cool. you might like the way you enter and exit doors, no need for loading and all that crap. its one time loading game, except in objectives. you will probably not like it because driving is frustrating and sprinting is not really sprinting, its jogging. people get killed after a long fight! police are idiots. you might get away with 2-3 stars without doing a paint-job. What's good about it! 1- World Graphics. 2- Entering doors and buildings is more realistic. 3- Cell phone is very cool idea. topped it 4- Very good story! i am thrilled. 5- Melee attacks are better and more optional. 6- Auto-Save. 7- Enhanced explosion effects. 8- Other visual effects are very cool 9- Can open locked cars. What's not good about it! 1- Driving is very frustrating.hard to control. 2- no such thing Stats and experience. 3- although it looks very realistics, San Andreas's Actions are more realistic. 4- No airplanes (WTF?) 5- No open spaces at all.(again. WTF?) 7- Weapons are very weak and ineffective. 8- SFX is bad, very bad. so the radio is! 9- No underwater swimming (BIG WTF?) 10- Cars collection is very very limited and the Car graphics and details are better in other GTA's 11- Very Very small motorcycle collection. 12- No other secondary vehicles (like Quads or Golf cart) 13- Hard to get weapons. 14- Hard to get money. 15- Accessories and clothes are very generic.(like this is a black suit and thats a white one, thats all the difference) 16- Almost no Boats,(i haven't seen any yet) except others driving it. 17- No Dirtbike(o.O) 18- No police or ambulance missions or other. 19- No shooting while driving!(well the city is too small. doesn't matter) 20- Cars start flaming in a weird way sometimes! 21- Many extras are removed. Overall this is a great game(lol really) yeah its a really good game, even if GTA V was even worse, i will get it because its a GTA.i would definitely recommend it.

This is the 1st really 'open world' game that I have played, this means that if you can imagine the character doing it in the game, then you can really do it in the game. Remember when there used to be a pixelated wall blocking you from going further in a game, or trying to see what would happen if you kick something or drive off a cliff? Well there is no limit to what you can do in this game. I have only begun to scratch the surface of the depth of this massive Liberty City, which seems to be endless. Plus, every time your character dies, it doesn't mean that you have to start over, the challenges aren't too hard & there are many ways of playing the game, so far I haven't gotten stuck in any 1 place. This game is so entertaining, but it is for adults due to shooting people & drug dealers, violence, hookers, topless dance clubs, it is really so funny because it is a game & not real. Since I am an adult I know the difference in right & wrong so I can enjoy this game & think it's real funny, but definitely not for kids, no compromises, just don't get this for your kid!! If you do get stuck on a mission or level, then there are walkthroughs online & the game itself isn't hard to play. This is my 1st game in a long time & I am just blown away at how cool this game is with the gameplay, the realness of the characters, the plot of the story, the endless open world environment in which to wander & discover, you can even go buy sunglasses & new clothes. What I don't like & I say this not knowing what the online game play is like; is that I am stuck playing Niko the 1 character who is a man & since I am a chick, I want to create my own female kick ass version of the character. This game is #1 in my book & will always be my favorite game I think!

I'm going to start this review by saying that i've been playing GTA games, and have been a fan of the series since the original GTA, and of course GTA 3 on PS2. Needless to say, I was very accustomed to the gameplay of GTA. Coming straight out of San Andreas, you're left wanting more. My dream was to have a GTA game on a seventh generation platform and Grand Theft Auto IV completes that dream. MISSIONS: You start the game as Niko Bellic, an Eastern European fresh off the boat, and fresh from the Yugoslav war. The first mission basically introduces you to Broker (like Brooklyn), and driving a simple car. (Were definately not driving a Banshee on the first mission.) Overall I like the missions and they interest me more than any other GTA game. The missions always offer some kind of action, as well as clever dialog that keeps the player immersed in Liberty City. You will definately see Niko, as well as his story progress throughout the game. I am very impressed with the high quality of the missions and cinematics, as well as the in-game cinematics. FREE ROAM: One of the funnest parts of GTA games has always been free roaming around the city and exploring. GTA IV takes that to the next level with the incredible detail and depth Liberty City now has. You'll hear people talking on their phone as you run by, you'll knock over boxes and trashcans in alleyways, you'll be climbing over any fence and wall that you can, and you will see newspapers and other litter floating around occasionally. The detail and depth of this new Liberty City is definately there, and i'm very pleased with the new design of Liberty City, making it much more like New York is a refreshment from the old Liberty City. MULTIPLAYER: Multiplayer is a very important aspect of GTA IV. You can customize your online character, and earn money by killing enemy players to unlock new clothes, advance in rank, and buy new clothes. Multiplayer has many modes, but if you're not into objective games, don't worry, free roam online is just as fun, if not the funnest, as you can do anything, and even invent new ways to play with your friends, or with friends you may make during the game, try pulling over next to another player, and they might just get in your car and shoot at other players. There's always new and exciting things happening on the multiplayer. SUMMARY: I give GTA IV a 5/5 because I really feel that GTA IV is an absolute masterpiece. I read a review earlier where someone said "videogames as art", I agree 100%.

I will be writing a brief review of Grand Theft Auto IV. I'll keep as many spoilers out of my review. Story Niko Bellic an Eastern European comes to America looking for a better life and to leave his past behind. He lives with his cousin Roman. But we all know that everything isn't going to go smoothly. "As they slip into debt and get dragged into the criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city the worships money and status, ans is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't." (From the back of the game) Map For those who don't know this is a free-roaming game, meaning there is a huge map and you're free to explore! Go anywhere you want, do thing, find things, etc. Majority of the map is urban, there is the main city and there are the suburbs. There are a few forest like areas though. The city's name is Liberty City it is modeled after New York City. Vehicles Like the title of game refers to, you can steal cars and drive them. Trucks, sport-cars, bikes, just hot-wire them and take off! There are a wide range of ground vehicles to choose from. There are cars which are modeled after the Ferrari 458 Italia and Bentley, the only difference is they don't actually have the Ferrari or Bentley logos and a few tails are different. You can go to a car wash and the Pay "n" Spray which sprays your car with a random color. It's always random there's no way of choosing, it gets very annoying. There are only 2 air vehicles, one is a civilian chopper and the other is a police chopper. There are many boats to. Yachting boats, fast inflatable boats, etc. There is also public transport in the way of trains which you can ride. Cars have a boat like physics to them, if I'm hitting a curb at high speed and I make it it'll start wobbling/rocking like a boat side to side. They're still fun to drive though. If you crash a car it'll get dented, this is something that really surprised me, it can get extremely damaged too, to the point where the engine stops working, if it was a head on collision, or one of the tires is jammed up if the hit was directed to one of the wheels. Doors and hoods can be ripped off! Weapons Weapons include the AK-47, M16, baseball bats, sub-machine guns, knifes, grenades, RPG-7, pistols, and Molotov cocktails. You can activate cheat code and get the higher level guns early on, but be careful doing some cheats will block trophies from being earned. Killing Killing in this game is a bit disturbing. You can go around shooting civilians, cops, anything. If a civilian is just walking around you can kill them in cold blood. Definitely not a game for children. PARENTS, the rating is there for a reason. In games like Battlefield or Call of Duty your at least killing soldiers, but killing civilians? Really? There's also the blood factor..it gets bloody. Activates You have a wide range of thing you can do. You can go to a bar and get drunk, go bowling, go play darts with a friend, play pool, go to restaurants. You also have internet in the game, you can go to car sites, buy ring tones for your phone. Phone You have a cell phone. You use it to set up meetings, ask friends if they want to go to a bar, etc. You launch multiplayer games from your phone, you can think of it as the "main menu" in-game. Multiplayer For mulitplayer you can create your own male or female character and customize a few things like clothes and skin color. You have many game modes to choose from like Deathmatch, Car Jack City, Cops 'n' Crooks, Free Mode, and many others. This game was released in 2008 but many people still play it. Graphics Graphics are very good I would give them a 8.5 out of 10. They look quite natural. You can destroy garbage cans with explosions or by ramming them with a car, fences can be destroyed to, little things can be destroyed, but buildings or bridges cannot be. Dialogue A lot of humor. There is swearing in the game. Overall It's a good free-roaming game but it gets boring. After the main storyline you can do side missions and jobs for friends like being a taxi driver but doing all this gets old, it feels more like doing a choir then actually having fun. And don't forget about the killing of civilians, very, very violent. I wouldn't highly recommend this game as I've said about ten times now, it gets old and boring. Rent it first and then if you like it buy it. Multiplayer doesn't appeal to me much either, I guess I'm just not a GTA guy. If you're looking for another free-roaming, action, shooting game, you might what to look at Just Cause 2.

This game has to be by far the best game, with the best mods; I have ever played. This game has high end graphics with a good graphics card and has great performance! People who say it has bad performance or people who say it's a titchy game, are probably the majority of people who decided it was okay to purchase & download the game onto an office laptop or desktop. For those gamers who have played Minecraft and automatically get fancy graphics and Far rendering, this game will run no problem. If it is a bit laggy, it is most likely you're automatically on High graphics settings, and it doesn't hurt to turn it down a level. Your GeForce will thank you for that one. Modding: The mods for this game are nearly endless! You can download easy to setup mods to become a Cop, firefighter, Paramedic, or whatever you like Role-Playing as. Mods help keep the single player experience fun, and makes it that game; That you can't wait to go home and play when you're in school! It is possible to download this on Windows 7 but you need great CPU and a good Graphics card to get out of the woods. Or bad luck will bite you in your behind and you will be writing bad reviews like the other ones. Windows 7? Haven't bought the game Yet? You may also buy the game as a gift for someone you know, that has a computer with XP, and seen that it can possibly handle this. Just give your friend the E-mail and password to your amazon account and give him the link via. Facebook to download Grand Theft Auto IV, and ta-da, you just given your friend the best gift for under 20 dollars! Have windows 7 ultimate? Based on previous games ~ You have had great graphics? Then take a chance and download this! And please note that it isn't illegal to post cracks to this game since it is no longer under development. But it is wrong. Cudos', and bottom line: Great game!
