Beats the out of the box Mesh WiFi any day.
I’m genuinely blown away by how well these access points perform. I’m currently running 2 × U7-Lite and 1 × U7-Pro, giving me full WiFi 7 mesh coverage throughout the house. Performance and stability have been excellent. I’ve configured multiple VLANs — one for guests, one for IoT devices, and one for personal devices. With a decent firewall and switch, this setup is very straightforward and gives great network separation. Initial setup was done using the UniFi controller software on my Mac. I’ve since moved the controller onto a VM running on my Proxmox server, mainly to centralise logging and monitoring. The system has now been running continuously for two months without a single issue. I originally considered an “out-of-the-box” consumer mesh system, but although this solution requires a bit more setup, it is absolutely worth it. The flexibility, control, and performance are on a completely different level, and it’s very easy to expand later, including adding outdoor access points if needed. One thing to note: you will need a PoE switch. I’m using a budget option, TP-Link LS108GP and a TP-Link POE160S PoE+ Injector and it works perfectly. Overall, a fantastic system for anyone who wants professional-grade WiFi at home.

Powerful signal, PoE+
Very strong signal, though keep in mind you need a PoE+ injector (or router with PoE+) I have a dream router 7 and found the inbuilt PoE was insufficient, however the device still functions at half power and even at that the signal from it has taken 45 of the 75 devices on my network with a strong signal. given the dream router 7s weak WiFi signal I think including an AP is a defacto setup and this was the correct choice. Build quality is very solid, metal mounting brackets and able to be mounted on ceilings walls or anything else you can think of. Device itself is fairly large (atleast it's bigger than I expected) but it looks nice and premium, using only a ethernet cord for power is very clean aswell -- though keep in mind there is no other way of powering it, so you need to get ethernet where-ever your going to place it. Setup was easy, once plugged in my Unifi app asked if I wanted to adopt the new device at which point it was installed into the network, updated itself and became part of the mesh. It's only been a day but it hasn't missed a beat yet, no reboots etc have been required post-setup and the signal from it has maintained between 45-55 devices the entire time.

Strong performance, but WiFi 7 range is shorter
I picked this up late last year and it’s been a solid performer overall. Speeds are excellent, stability is rock steady, and it integrates seamlessly into the UniFi setup. For throughput and modern features, it’s hard to fault. Worth noting though – WiFi 7’s higher frequencies do mean reduced range compared to older standards. It’s fine if you’ve got a decent network of access points, but don’t expect it to cover the same ground as WiFi 5 or 6 on its own. For me, the performance gains outweigh the range trade-off, but it’s something to be aware of before buying. If you’re already invested in UniFi and can place it sensibly, it’s a great bit of kit.

Decent range.
Seems very good so far. It replaced a 10 year old AP lite that died and this one has much more range. Now I have decent wifi in the garden without having to use a repeater. Just on installation, there is no PoE in the box and I had a PoE+ ready for this. Also, had loads of problems adopting onto our controller so had to initiate it in stand alone mode, which is fine. I realised later that my controller version was from 2022 and won't cover this newer unit. So a software update and readoption when I have some time.

Speeds are Fantastic!
My U6 Pro packed up after 2yrs of use, so i was in the market for a replacement - i was going to stick with Wifi 6 but finally made the decision to upgrade to Wifi 7 and i am so glad i did. The AP is standard unifi quality, well made and substantial! Luck has it the U6 PRO bracket was the same as the one in the U7 Pro so i just swapped the AP's out. The controller adopted the device without issue, so setup was a breeze. The difference in speed is fantastic, i am now getting around 750Mbps downloaded and 400Mbps upload using my WiFi 7 devices, that's a substantial increase over the U6 Pro - this is clearly down to the extra 6Mhz wifi band which has little congestion at this time. The only downside to this AP is the blue light is super bright - lighting up my hallway when dark! I am hoping Unifi release an update to dim the light. Very happy with this device!

Works really well, reliable and fast
Very impressed. Replaced my aging AC LR and Lite with this single U7 Pro. Added to my existing setup first. I did have some issues getting my 6ghz capable devices connecting to the 6ghz band. In the end, I created a separate 6ghz only network (alongside my 5/2,4 network and 2.4 only Iot network) and connect to that. Devices like my mobile phone achieve speeds close to my 900mbps internet speed. I have even noticed minor speed improvements for my older devices. I have retired my AC WAPs as the U7 seems to work perfectly well without them. I have a 2 bed apartment, so don't really have range issues.

Good quality
This device works absolutely fantastically for providing Wi-Fi. I have it connected to a dream machine using a PoE injector so that I can get 2.5g ethernet, the usual quality I've come to expect from the Unifi eco system

Perfect coverage in my house with roaming
After having issues with several other brands (Asus, Synology) mesh wifi roaming in my house, I moved to purely Unifi based home network (UCG Fiber, Flex PoE switch, 2 APs). Since I have them, all of my devices always online with rock solid wifi roaming in the house.
