Less Than a Gentleman
Product ID: 49010387
In this never-before-published historical romance, New York Times bestselling author Kerrelyn Sparks returns to the 18th century, where the fight for freedom is as dangerous as the fight for love. Between searching for the missing Munro sisters and South Carolina being all but lost to the British, Captain Matthais Thomas has more important things to worry about than finding a bride. But his mother has other ideas. When Matthais finds a beautiful woman in his bed who claims to be his betrothed, he is suspicious of her identity … and determined to discover the truth. Caroline Munro had few options. The British burned down her home, and now, traveling with her very pregnant sister, Caroline is pretending to be someone she’s not so they can have a safe place to rest. But she didn’t count on a matchmaking matron or her rogue of a son … and certainly never dreamed she would fall in love with a spy. Review: Four Stars - It's entertaining. Review: Great book which is the 2nd book of 2 in a historical romance set in Revolutionary War torn America - This book follows closely after the first book, The Forbidden Lady. I don't usually read historical romances from America, nor those from the Revolutionary War, but I had just finished the Love at Stake series, which I had loved, and decided to give these a whirl. I was happy that I did. I enjoyed these books immensely. The characters were well-drawn and engaging. The storyline kept moving and kept me totally enthralled. I liked learning and reading about a time in American history that I don't often think about. I especially liked how both sides were presented reasonably. The enemy were not ALL horrible. It also shows a little bit about the British supporters and how they thought. I will be honest. I read this book awhile ago and have read many others since then, so a lot of the details aren't coming to mind. But what I do remember vividly is how surprisingly interesting I found it to be reading an American historical romance and thoroughly enjoying it totally. Especially when I tend to read the traditional British Regency and Victorian romances. Try this and see what you think, and for a totally different taste from Kerrelyn Sparks, try her Love at Stakes series, which is a paranormal romance series with vampires and all sorts of beast changers.

The Munro Sisters are back
I zipped through The Forbidden Lady and I am just as pleased with Matt and Caroline. If you haven't read Virginia and Quincy's story, read it now. Less Than a Gentleman was a wonderful continuation of the Monro sisters doing what they do best. Fighting for their families, their independence and spying on the Redcoats.

Great historical romance!
I really enjoyed the fact that this novel took place in America during the Revolutionary War. It reminded me very much of "The Patriot", the movie with Mel Gibson. Kerrelyn Sparks is one of my favorite writers, and I enjoy all of her books. This one had some nice plot twists, and there was a connection in this book to others that she has written. I love when the characters of one book are connected to the characters in another book. This was an enjoyable read, comical, yet sexy.
