LEVIATHAN

Took a punt on this one based on some reviews. I had heard some Mastodon before which I felt was a little bit commercial. I had no idea that this prog sludge masterpiece was about to become one of my favourite albums of all time! Initially I was pleasantly surprised at how fat, crunchy and downright heavy the riffs are. It certainly has a much more raw sound than I was expecting, but this fabulously intricate Moby Dick concept album completely transports you to the crashing waves howling wind and unbridled rage of Ahab. Bizarre and utter class.

GREAT PURCHASE

I already have Leviathan on CD and loved it. Only gripe with the vinyl is the change in the play order, so Aqua Dementia doesn't lead straight in to Hearts Alive. The yellow vinyl is cool but where this really shines from the CD version is the artwork. From the front cover to the inside of the gatefold, it is a work of art. Someone really should make a poster of the the white whale/hunter/island/shark because it looks amazing. Sound is tight, drums in particular are very clean in the mix which makes them shine through. Hearts, Naked Burn & Aqua Dementia high points.

Having repeatedly been dismayed by recent Mastodon releases, I revisited this album to assure myself that I hadn’t been mistaken about their prior greatness. When an album is even better than the mythical status it has forged in your mind’s eye – then you know it is something very, very, special. Leviathan is a transcendent, majestic, unyielding wall of aural brutality and beauty. A truly monumental masterpiece. I will take this music to my gave.

One of my all-time favourite albums. Guitar riffs and drums on this album are ace. It's got to be up there with Black Sabbath's Master of Reality and Metallica's Metallica as one of the great Metal albums of all time.

Bought this album on the back of some strong reviews, and it was worth it. In my opinion it takes a couple of listens to warm into it properly, but there is some excellent work in here as the 'story' unfolds. I wouldnt overdo the comparisons with Metallica, although slightly reminiscent of the 'Justice' era, which after all was some of their finest. Some true metal riffs in there, great guitar work although the vocals perhaps could have been stronger. In all, a worthy album.

This album is just pure beauty in my opinion I think it nothing short of an eargasm. I'm a huge mastodon fan so this may be biased but quite frankly this album has an chaoticly awesome drummer, finger destructive guitar players and a bass player which will make you wanna headbang like it's you're last day alive.

It is one of the great masterpieces of heavy metal.

Wonderful colored vinyl of an excellent album! This is a quality pressing as good as the music itself. It took a while to get it but aside that, item was in perfect condition. Sounds amazing! Spoil yourself and grab one you wont regret it!

L'edizione che mi è arrivata del vinile è un'edizione speciale limitata a 1500 copie con picture disc, per cui sono veramente contentissimo dell'acquisto! Consegna prime in 2 giorni come previsto. Consiglio l'acquisto ai fan della musica metal alternativa di cui i Mastodon sono sicuramente tra il top dei gruppi dell'ultima ondata metal.

One of mastodons, best albums, it came in pristine condition, blue discs, and on the back of the second disc on side four there is an etching of the Leviathan. Just amazing.

Este es un excelente disco de la banda sin hacer menos a toda si discografía pero sin dudas uno de los que quería tener en mi colección y en esta re edición con el disco de color y de 128 gramos la calidad de grabación se aprecia
