I've never used one before and didn't think I needed one but after getting it realized how useful it is. I use it for push-ups, step ups, mountain climbers, jumps, dips and for seated weight exercises among others. It's solidly built (more so than I expected) and can easily take my weight (170 lbs) and can handle more. It is sanded down nicely with no sharp corners. The handles are placed comfortably from the top for doing push-ups and the dimensions are spot on. I looked at other plyo boxes but decided on this one for the price and the handles being near the top. I also looked at making one myself and found that the price and effort to build one wasn't worth it (plus I didn't have the appropriate tools). It doubles as a side table next to the couch for drinks and also a stool to reach the top shelf of the cupboards.
