But among all these, Swamp Thing stands out as an all-time must read. Moore's stories are sharp, smart, thrilling, and profoundly thought provoking; with art by Steve Bissette and later Rick Veitch, it evokes a deep tension as well as, when called for, a serene beauty that few other books before or after can match. Review: Swamp Thing is Incredible - Alan Moore’s writing remains exceptional. Without any spoilers, this is one of the best stories I have ever read. There is an overarching main story that has detours / vignettes that build out the world and characters. The illustrations are beautiful and haunting. Only disclaimer is the story gets dark, even by modern standards. If the theme doesn’t put you off or even if you’re on the fence, do yourself a favor and dive in.

If you're a swamp thing fan this is a must read. If you're not a fan you will be after reading this
Can't go wrong with Alan Moore or Swampthing. The artwork is trippy and amazing. Going with the original colors from the 80s takes me back to being a kid. I was 10 when this run started and for now obvious reasons I see why dad said no back then. Anyway pick this gem up.

Excellent collection at an AMAZING Price
I love reading comics and it’s event better when you get a set of comics in a collection like this. The Swamp thing Saga is a set of trade paperbacks that come in a nice box set. I’ve read the trade paperbacks and each book is awesome. If you are a fan of the great Allen Moore and Swampthing then buy this collection. I bought the collection when it was 50% off which was Amazing. An incredible value at a price you can’t beat.

Muck incrusted mockery of a man.
This series... Its just incredible. I cant say enough about it. I'd always like the Swamp Thing movies when I was a kid, but this character is so much deeper than campy cult movies. Even if you're not a comic reader, I encourage you to pick this up (its very affordable on kindle) and give this series a look. Its definitely not for kids, it goes to dark places at times. For me its opened up a love of horror comics and and appreciation for the works of HP Lovecraft (dispite his personal faults). Its genuinely funny, and at times truly sad. Alan Moore really took this character to great places. I just love it.

Classic run, must read, with a few weak points
It's a classic run but I'm going with 4 stars, because the quality does vary. It start up with an appropriately titled "Loose Ends" which wraps up everything that came before very neatly. Then comes the famous "Anatomy Lesson" which I've read 5x over the years. It's exceptional. Most of the stories between this and issue #50 are great. #37 introduces John Constantine who arguably becomes more successful of a character than Swamp Thing. There is a great story which I'm sure is inspired by the Winchester Mansion. There are very few subpar issues there, though I think the story that wraps up in #50 ran a bit too long. Of course the Batman crossover in #53/54 is good. But the rest near the end are forgettable. One of the issues, #60 I think, is basically illustrated prose. When I read it as a kid, I thought wow how neat the way it defies the traditional format. Needed a thesaurus to read it. What literary genius! But rereading it, I think it's pretentious and unnecessary, wordy and boring.

Demorei de comprar esse box porque tinha dúvidas a respeito da qualidade. Agora que entrou em promoção aproveitei a oportunidade e não me arrependo! A qualidade do box é incrível. Os volumes em si são encadernados em capa mole normal, mas o destaque é a preservação das cores originais, muito superiores à péssima recolorização digital feita para a edição absoluta (esse, inclusive, foi o principal motivo que me levou a adquirir essa edição, especificamente). Valeu a pena!

Swamp Thing is a fantastic story and this collection just makes it perfect on my book shelf. Highly recommended. Read this, then watch the TV show, which is also great :)

The product received was pristine. No complaints there, thanks!! The stories are mind bogglingly good. You can see the foundational blocks of how DC has set up nearly everything good they’ve produced over the last 35+ years. Quite remarkable.

A very elegant box set- at a bargain price! Each book is around £18-20 on its own so definitely worth buying the box set. One of the greatest comic books of all time!
