SEBSON PIR Sensor Outdoor IP65 Wall Surface-mounted 12m/180° + 3m/360°

Excellent Pir, very easy to set up. Much better than some others has 2 Pir's one face forwarding which you can adjust to your preferred motion detection zone and one that points directly down to ensure anyone standing below the Pir will be detected. Which means if its placed directly above your external door the light comes on as soon as you move into the door way, no more walking in the dark for the first few steps.

This is a very good PIR detector, with 1 star knocked off because there is no detection sensitivity setting - there is only the option (via the setting dials) to change time on, from a minimum of 10 seconds, and the light level sensitivity (day to night). I have it fitted to the underside of the soffit boards of a low roof, and facing the prevailing weather. The ability to mount it with the wires coming out of the top was very useful for me, and so far it has stood up to some extremely rainy days. I have it mounted facing the front gate which is about 4 metres from the road, and because of the lack of ability to set the detection sensitivity I have it pointed down at quite an angle to avoid being set off by passing cars the whole time. This negates the secondary PIR sensor on the bottom of the unit, but with a bit of trial and error I got it detect anyone coming through the gate, and also cars that stop by the front gate. Side to side range remains very good however, and it detects anyone leaving the front door about 5 m to the side. I don't have it set up to directly control a floodlight that I put right next to it - I have the PIR output connected to a switch input of a Shelly 2PM Gen 4 relay that then connects to Home Assistant, and have the light setting set to so that it detects motion at all times of day and night. That way I use it to tell me when someone comes through the gate - it's surprising how many couriers don't knock on the door very loudly and end up leaving because we have not heard them. To work with the Shelly device, I needed to connect a highish value (~330Kohm) 2W resistor between the L' of the detector and the switch input of the Shelly - as instructed by Shelly themselves - and having done this, it works perfectly. That said, I have programmed the Shelly to switch the floodlight on and off independently of Home Assistant, i.e. with local logic, and to do this between sunset and sunrise only. Overly complicated? Maybe, but it gives me a lot more control over the light than is possible with a direct connection of it to the PIR sensor.

Great bit of kit, I’ve mounted this on an oak porch connected to a huge carriage lantern and it works perfectly! The sensor activates the lantern from the end of the drive which I set up with ease. The whole connectivity, wiring and installation was straight forward and surprisingly easy for an amateur like me. It has been up now for few months through all sorts of extreme bad weather wet, dry, hot or cold and still works fine. Great value for money and would highly recommend.

I have just installed this and am very impressed by the quality, which is comparable to a much more expensive one I bought previously. Solid german engineering, everything fits well, and waterproofing details seem well thought out and good. Early days so I can't comment on durability, but it was simple to install, and works perfectly. Adjustments are clear and well calibrated, as opposed to others I have used. I was fed up of having to replace sensors every couple of years or so, and went for this for its IP65 rating, which is about as good as you can get in terms of water ingress protection. Very pleased so far. Update 12 months on - has worked perfectly, sensitivity is just right, and reliable. Very impressed, and will be buying again for an installation I'm doing for my daughter.

Not a bad product, it's doing the job and so far surviving the elements. Unfortunately the range of motion detection I get is about 4m not the advertised 12m. The cable space is adequate if using 1.5mm cable and the clips just about do the job though I personally suggest replacing them.

Bought this as an alternative to a floodlight with built in PIR. Better quality than those, in my opinion, and leaves the option to replace one or the other. Great item; would buy again

Useless. The description says 12m/180°, and this is not true. Max distance of operating is 5-6 meters, angle 90°. I bought it because I needed a wide-angle sensor, but I'm disappointed. Do not buy it if you need a wide angle.

Good detection areas. Has a frontal detector and a detector at the bottom of the unit for the area directly below. It detects movement at the end of my drive, approx 25m. The only thing I found, that lets it down, is the push fit terminal block. Whilst these are quick and easy to use, some poor quality ones don't grip stranded wires very well. The one supplied with this unit is one of them. After numerous attempts I thought I'd got it to grip satisfactorily. After closing the unit up it didn't work. I re-opened it up to find one of the wires had popped out. During further attempts, one of the unit's pre-installed wires came out. The block went in the bin and was replaced with good old terminal block. I should add that I'm electrically qualified, so it's not lack of experience. I would buy again but would discard the supplied terminal connector.

The sensor is quite good quality, however don't expect to have detection range at 12 meter as it is mentioned in the description. The range however is approximately 8 meters maximum.

Détecteur petit, discret et très efficace. La portée de détection est comme dans la description, 12m. L'appareil est petit et donc discret mais tout aussi performant. Notice suffisamment claire, pas de soucis d'installation. Il est très sensible aux mouvements. De plus la durée d'éclairage est réglable. Chez moi, ce détecteur ommande des lampes LED, c'est parfait. La qualité y est, bien conçu. L'étanchéité devrait être parfaite, tout est prévu pour empêcher l'eau d'y entrer. De part sa petitesse, c'est un peu serré pour y cacher tous les fils mais facilement faisable. Attention à bien respecter la polarité. Si la polarité n'est pas respectée, il ne fonctionne pas mais surtout cela ne l'endommage pas.

Der SEBSON Bewegungsmelder macht insgesamt einen sehr soliden und hochwertigen Eindruck. Ich habe ihn für den Außenbereich eingesetzt und bin mit der Funktion bisher sehr zufrieden. Gerade für eine automatische Beleuchtung rund ums Haus ist ein Bewegungsmelder eine praktische Lösung, da das Licht nicht jedes Mal manuell eingeschaltet werden muss. Die Montage als Aufputzlösung finde ich sehr praktisch. Der Bewegungsmelder lässt sich dadurch unkompliziert an der gewünschten Stelle anbringen und macht dabei einen ordentlich verarbeiteten Eindruck. Auch optisch ist er eher unauffällig und passt gut an eine Außenwand. Besonders wichtig ist mir bei einem Bewegungsmelder für draußen natürlich, dass er für den Einsatz im Außenbereich geeignet ist. Die IP65-Schutzart ist hier ein großer Pluspunkt, da der Melder dadurch entsprechend für die Bedingungen im Außenbereich ausgelegt ist. Die Bewegungserkennung funktioniert zuverlässig. Sobald man sich im Erfassungsbereich bewegt, reagiert der Melder und schaltet die angeschlossene Beleuchtung entsprechend ein. Gerade wenn man abends nach Hause kommt oder sich rund ums Haus bewegt, ist das sehr angenehm und komfortabel. Auch im Alltag merkt man schnell den Vorteil: Man muss nicht mehr im Dunkeln nach einem Lichtschalter suchen und das Licht schaltet sich automatisch ein, wenn es benötigt wird. Gleichzeitig ist es praktisch, dass die Beleuchtung nicht dauerhaft eingeschaltet sein muss. Die Verarbeitung wirkt robust und für den vorgesehenen Einsatz gut geeignet. Insgesamt macht der Bewegungsmelder einen zuverlässigen Eindruck und erfüllt seine Aufgabe so, wie ich es mir gewünscht habe. Fazit: Ein praktischer und solide verarbeiteter Bewegungsmelder für den Außenbereich. Die Aufputzmontage ist unkompliziert, die Bewegungserkennung funktioniert zuverlässig und durch die IP65-Ausführung eignet sich das Gerät gut für den Einsatz draußen. Für eine automatische Außenbeleuchtung eine sinnvolle und komfortable Lösung.

Installato facilmente, fa egregiamente il suo lavoro. L'ho preferito in quanto dotato di sensore anche verso il basso (cd "antiscavalcamento") che per il mio uso si è rivelato utilissimo in quanto accende la luce non solo se si viene da davanti al sensore ma anche se ci si trova immediatamente sotto (porta di ingresso di casa). Giusta la sensibilità sia alla luce solare che alla distanza di rilevamento massima. Consigliato
