Solid option
It does its function well. The app is easy to set up and set a schedule. It might seem like a lot at first, but after you have it scheduled you think "that's it?" It comes with a metal bowl inside a plastic bowl. The metal bowl is lower capacity, for smaller animals, which makes noise when the food hits it, and the underlying plastic bowl is bigger. My cat was afraid of it the first time or two (it does make a grinding/whirring noise when dispensing), but then started getting excited when he heard the food being dispensed (except for the fact that it wasn't me dispensing it). It even lets you record your own announcement that the food is being dispensed. It has button controls, which I haven't tried extensively, but I think you really want the app for setting schedules and such. The app does give them the opportunity to "inform" you of their other offerings, but they're not persistent about it; it triggers at certain points in the app, but only once (from what I've seen after about a month of use). It doesn't show other ads (and if they add external ads, I will stop using it and severely drop the rating of this review). It will bug you to replace the dessicant packet once it's time, though. For those that need it, it can be set to dispense up to 4 cups at a time. I don't think the bowl it comes with could hold that much. For under a cup, it sets by 1/12 of a cup, which lets you set it right for "grazers" if you want/need; I haven't tried it, but I understand you can set it to dispense up to 10 times per day. Downsides: When closing the lid, it requires a specific position for the lock tabs to drop, and then you turn again to lock. This can lead to a lot of spinning the lid to close it The announcement speaker is very low quality. The first time I heard my custom announcement, it just sounded like a scratchy blob. Turning the volume up helps a bit, but max volume is still pretty quiet. In a time when you can get a cheap Bluetooth speaker that's better than the boom boxes of yore, it's hard to imagine that they couldn't find a half-way decent speaker that doesn't cut profits to a noticeable degree. The stock announcements are very matter-of-fact, and not how anyone would call a cat or dog for food. There's a man and a woman, and it sounds like they didn't know why they were saying the line; it's more like they're telling you to feed them, rather than calling the animal. This is something that they could fix with an update, and I hope they do. I think it would be a plus if there were multiple to choose from, each calling/telling the animal in different ways. I think it would make it more fun for a lot of people. They just need to be recorded by pet owners. Getting it to use the custom announcement took a few tries. It'll upload to the machine and show a checkmark, and you'll think it's done, but you need to tap that checkmark until a green icon covers it. It has to send the recording, and then the setting, to the feeder via Bluetooth, so it's possible that it might not happen right the first time. -- If I could give it an honest number of stars, it would probably be 4.7 or 4.8. I think it's a great machine and would definitely buy again.

Easy to set up, even portions, great wifi reach. Overall, love it!
Incoming lengthy review so here's the TLDR/most important stuff to note: - Easy machine set up - 2.5 & 5G with great wifi reach for app access - Dual power source with a lengthy adapter and option for 2 or 3 D batteries (batteries are not included, but not both at the same time are required) - Large food tank that dispenses 2-15mm sized kibble, and a window screen to see how full the tank is - Portions are super accurate (try manually dispensing a few times to make sure your machine is the same) - Desiccant bag for freshness (Slight con: these have to be replaced & bought separately every 2 weeks so it can add up. 1 is included in your order.) - EASY app interface, with easy set up - Scheduled feedings, with customization for a certain time and portion per scheduled feeding - 1/12 fraction system, but easy to convert online if you Google it (i.e. 1/4 cup = 3/12 cup) - Alerts for when desiccant bag needs changing and when there's a blockage - Manual feeding option with choice of portion size at the touch of a button - Meal call set up so you can call to your pet with either their standard voice set up OR you can record a voice recording so they hear your voice! So I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting an automatic dry food feeder to better suit my schedule. And I gotta say, if you're looking for one... this is it! Setting up the machine is simple, and the cord for plug in power is a decent length -- and YES, it's also battery operated! (2 or 3 D batteries) It's always nice to have a fail safe, so you can use one or the other based on your preference. The inner mechanism for dispensing the food has not clogged at all for me, and I was feeding my stinky with Instincts Raw which includes slightly larger pieces of Rabbit hide. I was worried it wouldn't dispense, but nope! Everything runs smoothly. (Which is good because those are her favorite pieces) I also tested the portions with the Manual feeding option just to make sure the fractioned portions I wanted were correct, and those were on point as well. The app has to be the real selling point for me here. It's so simple to set up -- no crazy mumbo jumbo to go through just to get a schedule set. If you look at my screenshots, you'll see how clean the interface is. I was able to set up the exact time I wanted a feeding, and you can schedule multiple feedings a day. With those scheduled feedings, they go by a 12th fraction system. That can be a little confusing at first if you're not familiar with fraction conversions, and you're trying to be precise with your little one's calorie intake, which is what I'm doing. But a simple google search of "1/4 cup to 1/12 fraction" will pull up a handy calculator so you can get the right portions! You can also set different portions for the different scheduled times as well. You can get super personal with it -- INCLUDING adding meal time calls. I added a voice recording calling her name since she's so used to a human getting her attention by pouring her food. Even with me sitting next to her, her ears perk up and she RUNS if she hears the machine calling her name lol... I absolutely love the alerts this app sends to your phone as well. It notifies you if the food bowl happens to be too full to fully dispense the portion listed for the schedule. Once it's cleared (by a human, or your creature happens to start scarfing it down) it'll also notify you of that! Also, there's alerts for the desiccant bags when they need changing after 2 weeks. These keep the food fresh inside the tanks and helps control moisture, so it's necessary. I'd have to say that's my ONLY con. $15.99 for a 4 pack, and I don't believe there's an option for a larger pack, so really you'd be buying these every 2 months -- which, to some, is not even that bad. But I'm horrible with remembering stuff, so I'd say just subscribe to get them shipped to you automatically. SO in conclusion -- yeah. This was the best purchase I've made so far this year on Amazon. I have nothing but great things to say about this product, and I really hope you pull the trigger on it, too!

Like it a lot!
Update a few months after my original review One star, zero if I could. The machine completely stopped working a little over a month ago. I followed troubleshooting available online before emailing customer service. After a few emails exchanged with what was clearly an AI customer service rep, I got a human reponse. The human wasn’t anymore helpful than the AI and a lot slower to respond. A month later and there is no resolution whatsoever. Each reply from the human asked me to try yet one more trouble shooting suggestion, then asked for proof of purchase, then asked me to make drastic changes to my WiFi, then asked me for a video of the machine not working so that they could SEND ME PARTS to repair it myself. So, a product that completely breaks after a few months and laughably terrible customer service. It’s really frustrating too because this product made life a lot easier for us and our dog. Oh well… Five stars based on a few things: 1. It works. It feeds my dog on time, every time and set up was a breeze, including syncing with the app and creating a feeding schedule. The feeding schedule was a little tricky to figure out because it dispenses in units of 1/12 of a cup and I am terrible at math :) But once I figured that out, easy-peasy. I like that you can skip feedings or do one off feedings with just a few taps. 2. The feeder communicates well with the app, as far as I can tell. I get alerts when his food his low, when the desiccant bag needs replacing, if the machine gets kicked offline, and if there is something stuck in the dispenser (this has happened once, with a piece of odd shaped kibble). 3. It "fits" the kibble we feed our dog. I was worried the dispenser wouldn't be wide enough, but aside from one piece of kibble that was odd shaped, we've had no problems. For reference, he eats Purina one chicken and rice formula. I decided to try this when my husband found out he would be traveling for a bit and we needed a way to feed our dog lunch on the days I was working in the office. It's positively changed our routine in terms of other feedings, too. It used to be that our dog would whine for food outside our bedroom door starting around 5:30 am every morning. We tried everything to break him of this, but no luck. I set the schedule so that he gets one half of his breakfast at 4:45 am and the other half at 6:00 am. This has worked like a dream. Now, I usually have to wake him in the mornings when I get up, around 6:45 / 7:00 am. The food dispenser is relatively quiet and we keep it by our backdoor. So, I don't hear it when it goes off in the morning but my dog does. One nice, unexpected side effect is that it keeps him from inhaling his food because it dispenses slowly. If helpful to anyone: my dog is a med to large, about 60 lbs., lab/retriever mix. We haven't tried using the audio function so I can't comment on that (I noticed a few reviews said it doesn't work). I think the true test will be how long it lasts. I've had it almost 2 months and so far, so good, but I'm really hoping it lasts us a good long while. In the meantime, very pleased and recommend this to others.

Very customizable app
Like the ease of use. It has an app to help control how much your feeding and can adjust the amount and time easily. The only thing I found annoying was the app initially gives you ads to sign-up for additional health information. It also doesn't have the option for domestic cats, mostly exotic or purebreeds, and so I chose a cat that resembled mine. One thing to note is that it will ask for your cats age and weight, so keep in mind when first setting up. It measures by a 12th of a cup so it took a few days for us to get the amounts right. The silver bowl is... Okay. I like that it's stainless, easy to clean, but is sometimes a pain to slide back into place because I don't like picking the unit up (I have a cord/plug issue) I have to tilt the unit to slide it back into its holder where the silver lip sits just under the feeding slot. It also needs 3 D batteries for a backup which I appreciate if the power goes out. It's supposed to keep the memory/feeding schedule for at least a day (I believe). It has notifications, low food, and jam ups. So far I've had no jam ups as his food is what is suggested in the manual for best use. Cleaning seems easy enough, I have not had to do this just yet as it's our first month with it, but it 5-6 pieces that clip apart. The footprint is no bigger than an filtered water station or a freefeed system. It's easy to move as long as there is an outlet nearby (I have the smaller container ontop). The cons: the keys on the panel are touch. It comes locked, but doesn't need to be unlocked in order to set up or do anything if you're using the app. The unlock is a button on the left, touch for three seconds, and it will literally tell you it is unlocked. Then you can press the button for manual feeding of 1/12th a cup with each press. The filter in the top only lasts for about 14days before it says to change it. I'd like to have a month. I ordered a pack of 5 additional filters at the time I ordered the unit, and I'm glad I did because what it cones with is a plain satchet of the charcoal to start while the seperate order is the actual square filter with charcoal and the silica(?) beads. It has a small raised line for the lid to indicate the direction it should be put on to help with proper sealing. I took a marker and made it stand out because I kept putting it on backwards or didn't have it completely closed when we were doing trial and error with the amount of food (he was getting too much and we had to pour some back). Over all I am happy with it. Still getting used to hearing my own voice repeated for feeding time lol, but I think it has helped a lot. He eats what he is given and we haven't seen him tossing his cookies when he used to eat from boredom or separation anxiety. The ads haven't been a bother since the initial setup either. There is a fee if you choose to join the petlibro tracking, but it is not necessary to use the unit. Personally, I don't have the libro brand water filter system which I believe keeps up with how much a pet drinks. There is no sensor, as far as I can tell, in the food bowl to deduce how much the pet is eating or leaving behind, so for me seeing him finish 1/12 is enough. There is a good bit of options in the settings too, turning off the voice call at certain times of the day, notifications of battery, connection issues, filter life, and it seems very customizable to personal preference. The brand seems to have put a lot of effort into controlling how you want your device to work and that's a big plus. My reason for knocking a star was due to filter life, the stainless bowl that could probably have a knotch at the back for easier removal and replace, and the initial ads that were a bit startling during the initial setup as I immediately thought I'd have to pay a monthly fee in order to use the device.

Love it. Love it. Love it. (Black autofeeder, no camera)
Read great review first then come back here. Immediate 5 star if seller can tell me how to turn off the device touch screen entirely because by day 3 my dog figured out how to unlock the feeder and then feed herself. REVIEW: Just what I needed. my 10mo old pup was having digestive issues and I wanted a way to refine her feeding schedule and amounts. More feedings in restricted smaller amounts haved helped her overcome daily purging. (ick) I've never owned an automatic feeder and I bought this PetLibro version because it allows up to 10 scheduled feedings a day and all 7 days may be customized individually, though I only use the copy day feature at this time to make all days the same. What I find very valuable is that each scheduled feeding may be sized from 0-4cups of kibble(food) in 1/12 increments, so 48 different feeding sizes that I measured to be very accurate cup for cup. Understand the physics of it though because smaller the kibble(size of dry food) the more accurate the measurements. If you want to know exactly how much kibble is dispensed then (clean and dry all pieces that come in contact with food first), assemble dry parts, fill container, dispense 2-3 full cups first to ensure the internal air pockets are removed to ensure accurate measurements, then dispense and measure each of the levels from 1/12th to 12/12ths and compare it to your normal feeding size. KNOW THIS - medium to large kibble won't function well in this feeder. I intend to continue using the small kibble Purina Puppy Chow and I feel good about the feeder's size precision. At $70 the price is right as I didn't feel the need to spend more to add a camera to the feeder. Install and use of the mobile app was very easy and straightforward. I like option to record my own voice that plays prior to each feeding. What's cool is that everyone in my family may record a "Come Eat" audio and you can manually change which ones plays anytime you want from within the app. Oh, and the app may be installed on multiple phones so that everyone in the family can keep track of feedings and alerts. I did learn that the app's auto find of device from phone only works AFTER plugging in the PetLibro feeder. I installed the 3 'D' size batteries first and lights appear as does minimal functionality however Bluetooth signal is off until the device is also plugged in. Some reviews reported that they couldn't connect phone to feeder however I believe this was their issue. The batteries are designed for back up only when loss of power occurs - the device turns off wifi and BT to conserve energy to ensure dog gets fed. The food container holds 5 days of food for my 50# Labradoodle and the device has indicator light and an app push notification to indicate time for food refill. Food container looks to have a good tight seal to keep food fresh. There is also a desiccant pouch that should be replaced every week or month - though I've read that desiccant's may be renewed in microwave or dehydrator. Careful though, I melted one in a microwave once.

It's okay but it needs improvement.
I got mine on sale on Amazon and I think I paid around $75. It's okay but it needs improvement. It says it dispenses 10 g per portion so I need to feed my little dog about half a cup a day in two quarter cup increments. I started testing the portions once I got it hooked up and you cannot go by weight you need to go by volume. So a quarter cup is supposed to be about 30 g so I started with three portions and upon weighing the portions I got about 55 g average on the three portion setting which is way off. I tried four portions and got about 75 g I tried two portions and I got about 30 grand average so I'm like well this might have to go back. Then decided to do cup measurements out of the portions so two portions is equal to a quarter cup scoop. I would say dial in the portions you need by cut measurement rather than going by weight because I don't think it really weighs the food before it dispenses. I tried using the call for feeding recording but the feeder is sitting next to my couch and while sitting on the couch it's so quiet even I can barely hear it so the speaker could use a lot of improvement. I did not go with the camera version but I can see why people would. I would want it just to verify the feedings are dropping as I'm a little cautious when it comes to unknown brand products like this. I saw some reviews where people had issues with the Wi-Fi disconnecting but I think I got the updated model and I don't have that happening it could be because I haven't eero mesh network in my house rather than just a single wifi router placed somewhere. All in all it's an okay budget feeder that could use some clarification in the instructions that are obviously written by someone who English is not the first language and that's okay if you just read carefully. Set up in the app was very easy The only thing I can really complain about the app is that this is a Tuya "operating system" that runs this so the app is pretty generic and is designed to do more and connected other smart home devices because it's just the basic Tuya app rewritten or redesigned for this company so it talks about scenes for lights and things like that but as far as I can tell this feeder is the only thing this company produces lol. Also once you make a schedule you cannot delete it you can only switch it off which is a bit annoying.

Never update if it works.
If the feeder works never do any updates. Current one won't let it connect to Wi-Fi. Otherwise it's great and feeds on time with the camera. Don't buy this expecting help from customer service from the company.

Random beeps for no reason
This feeder started beeping for no reason. I cleaned it, there was no jam, everything installed correctly. I reached out for warranty support. They told me I have to have a video of it beeping. I told them that was unrealistic because it beeps at random times. They would not help me unless I was able to supply a video. I cannot set my phone all day waiting for a random beep. They also kept charging my account and sending me the desiccant bags even though I didn’t have a subscription. They are not helping with that return either. Amazon has integrity and is making this right for me but I would not recommend to purchase this.

Motor stuck, machine won’t dispense food
Edit: Increase rating base on Petlibro wonderful consumer service. Brought up the issue to the original company and after reviewing the video to prove it was the base that was the issue, Petlibro sent me a replacement base. I just got it and it is working so far. Crossing fingers it last more than 2 years. Original: After 6 month of use (and it wasn’t set to go off everyday either), the motor is dead. I keep getting an error message on the app saying the motor is stuck and to clean out the feeder but that’s not the issue. I’ve tried cleaning the machine out and it’s not a food blockage. The motor just won’t turn anymore. I've tried gently turning the motor manually and it won’t budge. There’s no way to open the machine to look under the motor to see if there’s an issue too. Very disappointing. The feeder isn’t cheap either

Far too expensive
I had initially thought that this was 6 packs of 4 each. But it's just 6 items in the pack for almost £20. I doubt that this costs more than 20p to manufacture. And they want you to replace them every 2 weeks!
