Fantastic flavor and a healthy drink for every day.
Love this tea! It is a very nice flavor and easy to make. I consider this a special find and will be purchasing it again. It is a real gift to find new flavors. If you are a fellow foodee, you know what I am am talking about. This is delicious and when mixed with cream, honey, and a little bit of ginger makes for a decadent drink! For every day without all of that extra, it is a healthy option!

Authentic Japanese Green Tea - A Pure, Refreshing Experience !
I recently had the pleasure of trying authentic green tea from Japan, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I opened the package, I was greeted by a fresh, grassy aroma that instantly transported me to the serene tea fields of Japan. The flavor is exceptionally smooth and well-balancedโnaturally sweet with a slight vegetal note and just the right touch of bitterness. Itโs clear that this tea was cultivated and processed with care and tradition. The vibrant green color of the brew is another sign of its high quality, especially in varieties like sencha or gyokuro, which are known for their deep umami flavor. What really stood out to me was the calming effect it had. Unlike the jittery buzz of coffee, this green tea provides a gentle energy boost paired with a sense of mindfulnessโperfect for a midday break or a moment of relaxation. If youโre a tea enthusiast or simply looking for a healthier, more refined beverage, I highly recommend trying Japanese green tea. Itโs more than just a drinkโitโs a cultural experience in a cup.

A very good tea
So delicious. Very nice cold, also.

Good tea
Sure, it is not as 'green' once brewed as other teas, but it does have a slight grass taste and clear color. The leaves bloom up in the water, so you know it is fresh stuff. Would buy again.

Earthy and Heartwarming
I'm still very young in my tea journey, so please don't expect the review of a connoisseur. Most teas green or otherwise that I've tried recommend 1 instead of 2 teaspoons of dry tea to 7oz of water, I followed the package directions which just suggested 2 teaspoons, and my hot water device is limited to 8oz. Steeped at 75C.The smell is unlike other green teas I've had, as far as loose leaf, the only other green tea I've tried is Vahdam's Himalayan Green. This tea has a much stronger flavor than Vahdam. When it hits my tongue I'd say the first flavor that I get is more of an earthy "mushroom" flavor, with a mild tea flavor in the background that fades into a little astringency and tea bitterness. (3min might be to long for a first steep.) There's definitely a plantlike flavor that cuts across the middle, but I definitely wouldn't call this "grassy." I would say there's a definite hint of "seaweed" in the mix.It reminds me of some of the teas I've had in Good sushi restaraunts, though my strainer is clearly not good enough as my brew looks more cloudy than what's represented in some of the pictures I've seen of this tea. The particles are light enough NOT to settle during the drinking of a single cup, it doesn't bother me at all.A second steep at 2min this time provides a flavorful green tea, less pronounced on the earthy/astringent/seaweed notes I described in the first steep (done for 3min).I wish this were a little less expensive, this is probably one of my favorite green teas I've tried, and while I still admit that I'm new to loose leaf, there's something about Japanese green teas overall that has a character unlike any other geographical region I've tried. This would definitely be a daily staple, this is something that on a cold rainy day I'd want to brew and sit down with a nice bowl of miso by a fire. Genuinely a great tea.

Makes an absolutely delicious pot of green tea!
I bought Chaganju Sencha Green Tea Loose Leaf, JAS Certified Organic Japanese Tea from Uji, Kyoto, 80g Bag, Sencha Tea, Loose Leaf for its health benefits and flavor. I just like green tea. This loose leaf green tea is SO much better than from bags. The flavor is much cleaner than tea brewed with tea bags. This brand is light with an almost hint of "green" (grassy flavor). Color is a pale yellow-green when properly brewed. My method is to boil cold water, rinse the cast iron teapot with the hot water and let it rest until the water in the kettle drops below 185ยฐ (F), empty the teapot and pour the water over a basket with 2 teaspoons of leaves. Let brew for 2 minutes then enjoy.Makes an absolutely delicious pot of green tea!

Great Tea
The smell and taste was great from bag to brew. Smelled like fresh sweet matcha. The leaves after brew came out very nicely. I wish it wasn't so pricey but most Sencha is expensive.

A little bit overpriced
While it's a great start if you finally want to try proper japanese green tea rather than those cheap bagged lipton green tea, here is a word of warning, you should have a temperature control kettle or at least a thermometer for water, because if you go like me and think "Oh, boiling hot water probably extracts more taste anyway, it will be just as good as there recommended 80C", you'll be correct on the first part, as it makes the tea very bitter, and nearly undrinkable.Once I figured out the issue, I tried cold brewing it, and it's pretty good that way, I personally liked the aftertaste, so in case you donโt have a way to get 80C water reliably, and still want to out green tea, you can do that. But for the price, I expected a little better, because I feel like this should be worth like 4 bucks cheaper than it is, but that might just be me.
