Does it come with the supplies (chalk, crayons, paint , paint containers, paper, etc.)or are these all sold separately?

You get only the paint container. You may need to buy Chalk, Crayons, Paint, paper roll, etc separately

Can I use both sides for painting?

Depending on the paint you use... maybe.

Is the chalk board side good

I had to go try it to find out ! It is a bit slick and the chalk does not mark really well-until you get some chalk on it with using the eraser , then it is ok. But not near as good as a genuine school black board. I quess I would say it is a bit slick. The kids play with it fine. The other side dry erase side is the one they always are using. And we use Crayola washable markers instead of dry erase. I give them a damp rag and they draw away! The washable marker work absolutely perfect. no skips. and wipes off super easy with a damp cloth. If you really want detail. I buy the micropore wash cloths in the automotive section at walmart- cut them into 1/4 squares. They fit little hands perfect. My grandkids use them for washing dishes, their babies, and for the easel. The cloth does not ravel when you cut it.
