Would a nato strap fit the lugs?

No it will not fit. The lugs are not removable.

Is this watch waterproof enough to go swimming with?

Since it is rated for 10 bar and 100m, swimming should be fine. As far as I understand you would need a 20bar rating if you want to do high-impact water sports.

Is this watch luminous?

Great watch...my husband likes it very much, but it is not luminous.
