This rack is always sold out because it’s the best.
This rack is one of the only ones that combines affordability with extremely high quality *and* carries the full weight of two Juiced RipCurrfent S ebikes! It is out-of-stock almost everywhere it’s sold as soon as it’s in stock, so if you need one and it’s available, I highly recommend you GET ON IT NOW! This heavy duty rack is made for a 2” hitch receptacle, and won’t work with anything smaller. Anything less would probably not hold two of these 80 lb bikes and survive a road trip. Pros: It’s super easy to put together; I did it without reading the instructions and only had to do a couple things over because I didn’t foresee the sequence. That said, the instructions are very simple to read and follow. No tools needed that aren’t included except for one bolt, which requires a crescent or open-end wrench and plier or socket wrench, as it isn’t the same size as the nuts the included “plug-wrench” is for. It is HEAVY duty, but not extremely heavy! I’m 62 and can easily put it on and take it off by myself. If you can lift your ebike, you can install this assembled rack on your hitch. Getting it to fit your bike is fairly simple, you just adjust the sliding wheel holders until your bike fits snugly in them, set fully down into them so the tire hits both front and rear contact points, then tighten them in place. The tilt-down feature will make getting into your hatchback or pickup bed easy, and is easily done alone as well. Older people may want to enlist the aid of their co-rider if two bikes are on board. The tilt-up feature for getting the rack out of the way when bikes are off the rack is simple to use and solidly locks in place. The anti-rattle/shake feature that grips the hitch pin works really well, and is easy to set once the hitch is installed and the pin in place. It pulls the pin toward the hitch, pulling it tight against a welded stop on the mounting tube where it goes into the hitch, effectively keeping the rack from wiggling in the hitch. It will still move, but doesn’t clatter around noisily. The provided cable lock is pretty high quality! Like any other cable, it’s not going to stop a thief who has time to spend getting it off, but it will keep your bike(s) safely on the rack if you’re not leaving it somewhere unattended for long. It also doubles really well as an added safety feature to wrap around your top tubes while transporting your bikes on any truck with a rack and rear crossbar; I just wrap the cable lock around my rear rack bar and the top tubes on the bikes and if there’s somehow a failure of the rack/hitch connection (pin breaks, something else breaks and connection fails - highly unlikely) it will keep the rack and bikes from bouncing down the highway. It also works well for securing the rack to the vehicle by running it through the safety-chain hooks on the hitch as additional security to compliment the less-than-optimum pin lock that’s provided (more on that in Cons) Overall, considering how good this rack is, the price is the final Pro it has going for it. It’s cheaper than anything else on the market that does what it does. Period. Which is why it never remains in stock for long. If you buy directly from Hollywood Racks, you’ll get in line for delivery when it’s in stock, which could be a while. If you buy from Amazon, you’ll get it an a couple days because if it’s not in stock it says “Item Unavailable”. eTrailer.com also sells them but they run out quickly too, though they do a great job of keeping in touch to let you know they haven’t forgotten about you, plus they have a ton of trailer-related items on their site and really knowledgeable staff for answering questions and steering you to the right accessories for anything you may need. The Cons: Not too many, but a couple in particular, like the above-mentioned pin lock. It’s just not a confidence-inducing lock, all things considered. With the anti-rattle tightening mechanism tight, this hitch pin is locked in place well enough so that the pin won’t fall out while driving if the lock happens to come off (not properly installed/locked, fails for some reason, etc), but if the steel band that wraps the pin ever rusts it may break someday and the pin will be loose in the receiver. The lock fits loosely on the pin, the cap covering the key hole doesn’t seat well over the lock and the whole thing feels just a bit like a weak point. A higher quality pin and lock would be a good investment even though those provided are of fair quality. One thing to note is that you can install the pin end of the cable lock into the lock itself without turning the key, which makes it a lot easier to lock, and this may translate to the pin lock as well, though I haven’t tried it yet. I mention it because getting the key into the lock while it’s under the rear of your vehicle and trying to get it seated and locked is a pain, but if it pushes on, this will be a much easier process. The tightening grips on the nuts that hold the tire seats in place on the rack are set so that, when the tire seats are right next to each other on the crossbars they sit on, the grip for one won’t turn a full circle without hitting the other one’s grip, making it impossible to tighten one tire seat fully. Not really an issue since once the tires are strapped in with the rubber cinches the tire seats can’t slide, and the screws in the ends of the crossbars provide a stop so they can’t slide off the bar when loose, but it’s something they should fix, and something you can plan for when installing yours so that they are spaced a bit further apart from each other. I tried keeping my bike centered behind my truck when transporting it by itself, so when I put two on the rack, they ended up right next to each other. Sliding them four inches apart when running two bikes would probably solve the problem, but the bikes will stick out the side of your vehicle more. I think that’s really it for Cons. A bottom line for anyone considering this rack is DO IT! I wish the suggested star ratings here weren’t limited to “Lock feature”, “Easy to lock” and “Easy to assemble”, because two of those three happen to be minor issues that really take away from what is a solid five star rating even WITH the minor lock issues.

Best value e-Bike rack available
We have two fairly heavy Aventon e-Bikes. This rack is built tough and has some really good features. 1. The attachment to the car is very well designed. It has a U piece inside and after you install the locking pin, you turn a handle which snugs up the connection so there is zero slop in it. 2. The wheel straps are high quality and easy to tighten and loosen. 3. Other useful features include lockable hitch pin and lockable center bike holding brackets. All the locks use the same key, which is really nice. It also tilts down, even with the bikes installed, so you can access the trunk. Very solid and well designed rack.

Great Rack
Took it out for a test haul on a drive of about 20 miles and it was rock solid, the thing barely moved even when traversing bumps and railroad tracks, very sturdy hold. Transported two 53 pound E-bikes though the batteries were removed so maybe 40 or so pounds each. Fairly easy to assemble with nothing really complicated about it, mostly just sliding pieces on and tightening a few fittings. Once done and tire rests were fitted for each bike gave it a final torque and good to go. All the release mechanisms are solid and simple to operate, the bikes feel very secure. I did use the included ratchet strap to add some extra tension to the frames and reduce the slight wobble they had. It is a heavy unit when moving it from storage to the truck and sort of unwieldy but nothing to sweat about, just be prepared to do some lugging of it, a tradeoff for being heavy duty and durable. All in all I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

The best fat tire e-bike rack
The Hollywood Rack is outstanding, built like a tank, yet simple to manage. Do not waste your time looking for a cheaper rack, you will get what you pay for. My fat tire e-bike is 72 lbs And the rack handles it no problem and rock solid. Hollywood also gives you a locking receiver pin, and 7’ locking cable lock all keyed to match the lock mechanisms on the rack. You do have to put this together but it could not be easier. This rack is by far the best I have seen, will handle 160 lbs, and I feel comfortable knowing I bought this to go across country with my bike. This is the rack to purchase if you are hauling heavy e-bikes.

Good initial trip with the Hollywood Sport Rider bike rack.
My initial impression of this bike rack is very positive. Very sturdy, weight is manageable for placing in the receiver. I’m 72 and it was not an issue for me. Folds up great when not carrying the bikes. Set up was not difficult, but getting the right balance position for the bikes took longer than I thought it would. The anti-wobble feature is nice, but I put this on the back of a Jeep Wrangler. Hollywood really should build a version for vehicles like Jeeps and Broncos that need a longer mount so the anti-wobble works. The current rack needs a 7-8” extension between the receiver and rack to clear the spare which really negated the anti-wobble positive effects. I also put a cover over the bikes to protect them from snow and ice on the trip which meant I needed to do something so following cars could see my rear brake/indicator lights. The Sport Rider has a 2” extension for additional racks on the back side. I built a light bar that mounted to the back of the receiver extension that worked beautifully. The Hollywood light bar seemed too light weight and difficult to mount to covered bikes. In all, the rack performed well on my first 1300 mile trip with two eBikes weighing about 120lbs total. I’d recommend this rack if you are carrying two heavier eBikes. Hollywood needs a better alternative for rear tire mounted vehicles as well as rear lighting other than the light bar they currently sell, but don’t let that hold you back from buying this rack. Good quality product that does the job.

What a great bike carrier! After spending two weeks reading up about E-bike carriers and watching lots of YouTube videos on the subject, we decided to go with this carrier. The Hollywood Sportrider E-bike rack is really well built with some nice features. It is very sturdy and made with heavy gauge steel. The joint welds are perfectly made and the steel parts are nicely coated. The entire build is of good quality! The box that the rack came in was double boxed and inside the main big box almost every part came in its own smaller box and each part inside each box comes in a protective bag. The rack was easy to assemble and all of the tools need to assemble the rack are included with the kit. There are also two bolt on brackets for two 20 inch wheel size bike. Our bikes are 26 inch wheel size, so we do not need the brackets. The kit also comes with two keys that work with the included locking hitch receiver pin, the lock for the two hook that hold the bikes down and a cable lock. I’ll be getting some extra keys cut, so that I can have a key in our two vehicles and a spare left at home. I assembled the carrier in about 15 minutes. The illustrated instructions are well made and easy to follow. The hitch receiver tightening system works well to reduce the amount of wiggling of the carrier. The rack once installed is able to tilt away from the vehicle to allow for the rear hatch of the vehicle to opened. The rack also folds up against the car while it is not being used to carry bikes. And yes the bend in the top of the tube is supposed to be there!!! The one thing that I can critique, would be the plastic ratchet mechanism that holds the wheel straps. The plastic mechanism looks to be small in size and therefore appears to me as a weak point. Hopefully I’m wrong and the plastic mechanism will hold up OK over the years. So far the ratcheting strap mechanism works really well, but time will tell. Over all I believe this too be a great carrier for E-bikes.

We bought this bike rack after being very disapointed with a competitor's version. The fact that the Hollywood's bar can be layed down to install the first bike is a very nice feature. I love the tensioner that is very simple yet very efficient at tightening the hitch into the receiver.

Rack is well built and easy to assemble. It was able to carry two 71lb fat tire ebikes with no issues. Didn't go too far on first drive, but rack was solid and held the bikes well. The anti-wobble lever securely holds the rack to the hitch with zero movement. Also, the 60" maximum wheelbase works with larger bikes (unlike the other brands like Yakima / Thule), but it comes with brackets to also allow bikes with 20" wheels to be secured properly.

Pro: good for heavier bikes Cons: rubberized hook to secure top tube wears down the finish on bike where it touches, had to apply 3m protective tape to stop it from getting worse.
