Ok, ok..... I am going to be honest. I bought the recipe book because I am a huge Duke fan. I love the awesome pictures and facts that come in the book. Which is strange because that is the exact reason I do not like the Pioneer Woman recipe books. Seems like hers are just bragging, maybe and his is about a legend. Anyhow, about the Grill Book... The pictures are bold and beautiful and makes the FOOD look very appetizing. The recipes are simple, fun and tasty. I like that they don't require a ton of ingredients- especially ingredients you will use once and never again or hard to find ingredients. All ingredients are familiar to us. Most recipes have a very helpful TIP about cooking that recipe such as how to tell if fish is fresh and take red meat out to room temp before grilling, etc. The pictures of John Wayne are PRICELESS! There are tons of interesting facts about John Wayne, his family and his film making. His signature is even on the cover. My only wish is that the cover was a hard back. I don't mind the soft cover it just seems like it would hold up better/longer with a hard one. But since this was a Christmas present to myself I wont complain. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE this grill book!

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my dad. He loves John Wayne and he loves to grill. The book is full of really great recipes that are pretty easy to prepare. In addition there are lots of photos and stories about John Wayne. There are great photos of the food also. I am hoping to cook some of these recipes with my dad now that the weather has warmed up!

Book offers inside movie info from John Wayne as well as recipes he enjoyed throughout his adult life. While working on any recipe shown - it feels great to know you are enjoying a meal that the Duke actually enjoyed.!!!

So far, every recipe we have tried has been amazing! The directions for each recipe are simple to follow for a beginner, but will taste like it was prepared by a gourmet chef. No matter your cooking skill, these recipes are wonderful. The pictures and insight into John Wayne's private life are of course a fan bonus.

Contained some interesting recipes with pictures and stories about the Duke. I bought 2 copies for my two adult sons birthdays. I like to do theme based gift giving. I also gave them The John Wayne Spice Rub Gift Set and the John Ford: Dreaming the Quiet Man Documentary (They already own the movie) which I also purchased from Amazon. I also gave them a bottle of the Duke brand bourbon whiskey which I had to order from an online liquor store. These items made for a nice John Wayne gift set.

I bought this as an anniversary gift for my husband. He loves grilling and trying new recipes so thought this may be a good choice! I can’t wait to give it to him. It has so many recipes and facts about John Wayne! I love how the pages are color coded so it’s easy to jump to the category you want.

Wonderful fun book, beautiful photos and yummy recipes. There are numerous steak recipes, even one with whiskey butter. Got to get me some "Duke" whiskey also! Didn't know he had his own brand. There are some photos of John Wayne I had never seen before also. I'm more of a cookbook collector than John Wayne fan, but this was a "must have" for my collection after seeing his son prepare some steaks on a show a few weeks back.
