Traditional wrought iron has been popular since the 18th century industrial revolution. Whilst you can now purchase aluminium, stainless steel and even plastic handrails, they don't have the same charm. Whilst stability was of the utmost importance when designing our handrails back in 2015, we wanted to create a range of handrails that looked the part and didn't resemble a mobility aid. All our designs have that wrought iron look and feel. Each is crafted by us in our Sussex based workshop. All our handrails are primed by hand, ready for you to add the topcoats to create that traditional look. Specification - Finished Height: 900mm - Rail: 40mm x 12mm solid convex bar - Posts: 40mm x 40mm x 2mm box section - Base plates: 100mm x 100mm x 5mm - Holes in Base plates: 9mm - External diameter of curl: 110mm - Distance from end of curl to centre of lug: 220mm - Fixings provided: 6mm thunder type bolts suitable for masonry, concrete and wood (no raw plugs required) - Black Zinc Primed - one coat of a zinc based paint is applied to help prevent rust, your rail will arrive black and will require a top coat and then the usual ongoing maintenance you traditionally associate with wrought iron.
