Great For When You Are Working With A Laser Level
About five years ago, my company built a second story deck in Sausalito, California. To preserve the wonderful view from first floor windows, the owners did not want to look at an ugly X-shaped brace between deck posts. For this reason, the engineer designed tube steel posts to help support the deck. Obviously, the single most important preparation was figuring out the height of the tube steel posts, just over 14 feet. This was determined by putting a laser level on the finished floor of the master bedroom, and projecting the laser beam at this grade rod, placed where each support post would be located. The reason this had all of our attention is obvious: if a wooden support is a bit too tall, it can easily be cut. If it's too short, shimming is always an option. With steel, however, adjustments are a bit more tricky. This grade rod is very sturdy, has lasted nearly 5 years and will undoubtedly keep serving us for many more years to come. Recommended!

Excellent
It's an excellent grade stake so we needed a little bit taller one and it really helped us get things on grade

I misordered and meant to order the feet and tenths rod instead
I returned it for the one I meant to get, but the quality seemed good. A sturdy rod, very compact when telescoped.

How to measure in tenths
Works great for the value exactly what I wanted.

Easy to crack when extended
Cheap made Fiberglas not thick enough to withstand the 16 ft. Easy to crack when extended

Perfect
Well made and exactly what I wanted. The negative reviews are from people that just do not understand how to use this item. No complaints here.

one of the best rods
I bought this rod as an accessory to a new CST laser level (by the way one of the best levels I could find) this rod is built exceptionally well. I can't seem to find anything wrong with its construction. It goes to 16 feet in 4 intervals so that you have a little more control of the rod. This is especially handy if you are working a scope level and the rod holder is inexperienced. The weight of the rod is the other thing that I like about it. It's not like and aluminum rod which is so light that you can't hold it still on a calm day let alone a windy day. This rod is just heavy enough that it will pretty much hold still all on its own all you have to do is balance the rod between 2 fingers. Overall I really liked this rod and if I ever need a taller rod I will be purchasing the same type of rod but taller.

Just fine
It’s a sectional stick with numbers painted on it, kind of hard to screw that up. Works just fine. Price isn’t to bad either.
