Frothy Foam hot or cold
Breville is awesome. First one purchased had to be returned was defective. For the price, I except higher standards and quality control from this company. We had the same product for 7 + years worked well and made extremely sturdy. So we did a return and replace. The product was fine. Works well, well made, excellent frother would buy again and again. Costly, but well made, usually. Wide variety of heat settings from cold brew milk to hot chocolate. Temperature control is easy to use and reliable. Button push start is simple. Spin element creates a wonderful froth form cold to hot and everywhere in between. The unit is well made not too big or too heavy. The frothing cup is not too thick or heavy. I would buy again. My only issue was the companies quality control, we have many of there products never an issue before.

Day 1 for a rookie coffee maker, and I am loving it!
I am trying to write reviews more often, as i use them all of the time to help me with my relentless research before buying something. So here goes. First: Packaging and the small details mean a LOT to me. It shows the company cares about your full experience with their product. This milk frother had me excited from the moment i started opening the box. It has a great manual (read it all before use people!), was packaged well without making me want to rip anything apart, but it was once i started seeing the machine that i noticed the attention to detail. The cord wrap under the machine that allows for the cord to be wrapped up and come out from several angles so you don't have to try to hide the "ugly" power cords (let's admit, no one likes dealing with cords!). There is a lovely almost mod-sculpted 3 prong plug-in with a hole, which upon reading the manual i discovered is for placing your finger in so you can gently unplug, rather than wrestling to get it out. It might not mean anything to some, but again, those are the details that show me a company wants me to have a great experience with their product fro start to finish. Also, the magnetic disc holder that keeps you from losing the capp/latte attachments is friggin' brilliant. Honestly, when I read that the machine had a built in holder for it, that is when i decided to buy the machine. Otherwise i just knew it would get lost in the drawers and make me frustrated. It's as simple, but decidedly genius as I expected! So i read the manual late at night to prep for my first coffee making experience in the morning ( i also received a Nespresso U machine that day. I've only had a coffee maker at home for the hubby and usually go to Starbuck's or a local place for my latte or macchiato). Lot's of details, but also a brief, succinct section on how to operate. I am not a morning person. Ease is important for me to be interested in anything other than getting ready and driving to starbucks. Let's just say 45 minutes later I am still in my jammies and there is STILL almond milk froth on the top of my beverage. yep. almond milk. I don't do dairy and I am trying to steer clear of soy (people, read up. that much soy is NOT good for you! especially the ladies!). The manual recommends trying multiple brands if your milk is not dairy, and that ALL liquids should be cold and fresh (opened within 3 days). Well mine was cold but opened a week ago. It still was fabulous and easy. Literally just poured the almond milk in, put the lid on, turned the dial to the middle of the "recommended" range, and hit start. I then used my Nespresso U, also for the first time, and after 3 ristrettos were "pulled", my milk was ready. poured in the milk, holding back the froth, added the espresso, topped with foam. genius. I will update as i learn and make more. But i can honestly say there has not been one single thing that i haven't loved about this machine since I saw the amazon box sitting on my door step. I hope this rambling review helps someone in their purchase! UPDATE: just a couple of weeks after i ordered this and i still love it and don't regret my purchase at all. The Almond Milk (I get Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original) foams consistently, whether fresh or a few days after opening. My husband has even started drinking the warmed, frothy extras if i have any after making my lattes. The foam is thick enough that when i finish my beverage up to a half hour or so later, there is STILL froth at the bottom of my mug. Haven't been out for coffee since i got this and my nespresso U!

Way more helpful than anticipated
I’ve had this for two years and I’m surprised I haven’t written a review for it yet. I was on the fence about buying it because it’s so pricey, but I haven’t ever regretted it. First, it seems I bought this after there was some recall for it being a fire hazard some years back. Mine hasn’t caught fire despite a lot of use, so I assume they fixed that issue. Second, I saw some complaints that it won’t froth non-dairy milks. In my experience that’s because non-dairy milks mostly don’t froth without additives, with the exception of hemp milk which is higher protein and froths very well in this machine. The ingredients of almond milk vary a lot, and I think most of us that are health-conscious enough to make our own stuff at home will tend to select almond milks that are just almonds, whereas coffee shops use ones with other ingredients added for costs and frothing purposes. Anyway, this thing works great. It comes with two discs, one that’s designed to froth it like crazy like a cappucuino, and a more subdued one that aerates a bit. I end up using the subdued one more often now that I’m back to milk, but nut milks tend to need the crazy disc. Two things ended up being really useful that I didn’t anticipate: 1) Making matcha lattes is really easy because I don’t have to prep the matcha powder. I just dump 1.5 tsp of matcha into 8 oz liquid and add some honey and it stirs so well the matcha dissolves fine. Similarly, cocoa powder dissolves quickly. 2) Being able to select the temperature, with the bottom temperature being about 100 degrees, is really nice if you’re trying to preserve some of the more delicate compounds in honey. When I’m sick I add a tsp of manuka honey and a tsp of this pollen/propolis/royal jelly/raw honey blend, and just set it to the lowest temperature, and the honey still works. It doesn’t work when I have to heat stuff conventionally at a higher temperature; the compounds start breaking down around 110 to 120F iirc. It should work for powders and such you may want to dissolve into drinks that are similarly heat-sensitive. It’s also easy to drink immediately, although obviously it gets cold much faster. But that’s actually nice too if you want a honey sweetened iced latte; honey won’t dissolve easily in cold drinks, but you can heat it lightly enough to get it incorporated and ice it. It also just lets you stir without heating, which has been useful sometimes. This machine is very easy to clean. I usually just put it in the dishwasher (I have a little covered compartment that I put the disc in), but you can also just put soapy water in it and stir/heat it like you would a drink and then rinse it out. It’s funny but I actually don’t use this as much for coffee as I do matcha lattes and hot chocolate, mostly because I only have a manual espresso machine so making espresso is a bit of an ordeal. But of course it’s great for coffee drinks as well.

This is by far the best milk frother I've ever used. I've tried other ones that are almost a kettle style, but they didn't work well, were very difficult to clean, and didn't last. I've been using this Breville milk frother almost daily for over a year and it still works like the day I bought it. This is super easy to use and clean. You just pick the disc (either latte or cappucino, depending on how much foam you want), put the milk in, and place the carafe on the stand. There's an easy to use dial on the front to select the temperature (or you can do a cold stir), then you just press the start button and wait! It shuts itself off after the temperature is reached. To clean, you take the carafe off the base and either throw it in the dishwasher or clean it manually. This unit uses induction heating, so the carafe is one piece of stainless steel - there's nothing that connects it to the base. From using this frequently, it produces some of the best quality frothed milk I've ever had. The bubbles are nice and small and the foam is dense. This is a lot easier to use then a steaming wand that comes with most espresso makers. It also makes the best hot chocolate ever - just add the hot chocolate powder/syrup/flakes while the unit is running! Now, the quality of the foam/froth really does depend on the milk you use. I've found that the higher the fat content, the better quality froth/foam that gets produced. Skim/0%, almond and soy produce the least amount of foam that also dissappears quickly. 2% and higher produces much more dense foam that lasts longer. However, in any case it still does a great job at heating and frothing the milk. Overall, for the price, quality, ease of use and cleaning, I would highly recommend this!

I like this product a lot, it has hot/cold settings and 2 different attachments so you can get more of a foam vs froth. It's very easy to clean and works well. I've tried with cream, 2% milk and oat milk filled to the minimum line and it makes a nice amount in about 2-5 mins. If the attachment is loose it will stop, so safety of the machine is pretty strong.
