I bought this to use on the plane, but it's more useful at home. The magnet is strong. Since it can be configured in different ways I use it as a phone stand vertical or horizontal without clipping it to the table. I use it as a handle instead of holding onto the edges of phone. It's not compact and is heavy to carry in my handbag. It was a little stiff at first, so I recommend just move it slowly to learn the different positions. Didn't need to clip it to airplane tray since there was a shelf, but it was tricky when I tried to. It was hard to attach to the tray while it was closed. It does attach to table at home but i don't use it that way. I am ordering one for my husband.

I bought this phone holder and another one to compare, and this one definitely came out on top for me. What I really liked is how easy it is to attach. You don’t have to fight with tension or press anything down hard. You just place it where you want, tighten the knob to fit the surface, and it stays put. Simple and secure. The magnet held my phone in place with no slipping, and the 360-degree rotation made it easy to adjust for watching videos or reading. It doesn’t fold down quite as compact as the other one I tested, but it still fits in my smaller purses just fine, so that wasn’t a deal breaker. I gave both a solid try and thought it through, and this one just worked better for me. It’s sturdy, flexible, and super easy to use. G

Very heavy duty. Made well and will work great on the Airplane.

Compared with the spring loaded type, it doesn’t open as far, but the trade off is that it’s more secure.

I didn't like so I returned it... magnet ok but the stand itself wasn't useful.

I absolutely love this magnetic phone holder! I have many different kinds, including similar ones like this with a spring loaded clamp. But I much prefer this one where you dial in the tightness to whatever you’re clamping it to. So impressed with the function and the strong magnetic hold that I ordered a couple more. I have one at the bedside, clamped to the kitchen table, and even use one outside clamped to a patio chair.

Got this for a 12hr flight to Japan and it made things so much more enjoyable.
