Carr & Day & Martin Carr & Day & Martin 500ml Belvoir Leather Balsam Intensive Conditioner

I have bought multiple similar leather conditioners and oils from just about all the other similar products available. I have had the best results with this leather balsam that I have used to treat my multiple designer leather jackets and other leather goods. I bought this product after seeing how it was used at various dedicated leather restoration businesses. Leather is cleaned and oiled to perfection, with beautiful dry down appearance. No discoloration or change in color of underlying leather. Leather remains soft and supple with very nice scent. Highly recommended.

This balm is heaven for my tack and boots. It is absorbed well by the leather making is soft and supple. It also smells quite nice. The only downside is the integrity of the sponge it comes with isn't the best so I end up using my own tack sponges about halfway through the jar because the sponge it comes with starts breaking apart into little pieces. Still a wonderful product that I'll always have on hand!

Wow. Two people who board at our farm suggested getting Leather Balsam for my tack and I tried this brand yesterday. It definitely softens the leather of my saddle, bridle and field boots! It's a Vaseline-type consistency, which I'm not used to, but it definitely changes the leather immediately. I used a small sponge instead of the one it comes with, which I'm sure is fine. Good product! Wish I knew about it years ago.

A little bit goes a long way! I’ve tried it on boots, saddles, and various other leather tack items. Leaves my leather super soft and supple.

There are other products out there that do as good a job as leather balsam, typically balsam-based products with a stabilizer such as beeswax to further help with waterproofing... but this product works great for quick wipedowns after cleaning your leather goods when you don't have the time or energy to really get in there and work the product in. A quick scrub and wipe with saddle or glycerin soap, followed by a generous application and wipedown with this product, will keep most leather in great condition. It does contribute to darkening over time, so using this on some lighter colored leathers (that you want to keep that way) is not advisable. I use this for two items I own, an oil-tanned cowhide messenger bag and some soft greasy brown Doc Martens boots that I've had for over 20 years.

This is the best leather balm for saddles! I've been using it after every ride to help break in my new saddle. It also keeps it looking really nice. It does darken the color a bit (I'm an artist so I notice these types of things more than others), but its not dramatic and I really like the look. The smell is also wonderful. Not overly oily, and soaks in really well. Highly recommended!

I love this stuff- not only does it make my leather look great, it also makes it a bit tacky to the touch. I love it on my dressage saddle, it really helps me get that extra grip to sit my horse's trotwork (he's like sitting a jackhammer). I also like how it kind of repels moisture- I've had to use my brand new saddle (ok almost a year old now, but it still looks brand new) in the rain a handful of times when we've been caught out at home and at shows. I put this on generously before riding when I know I will get rained on and I never have watermarks or any kind of moisture marking when I'm done riding. I have not tested the theory in a raging downpour, only generic rain.

This Carr Day and Martin Belvoir Leather Balsam is a lovely product. I have a beautiful retro-style sofa in Italian red leather, and this leather balsam has brought it up a treat, nourishing the leather and bringing a lustre to the leather. Not only is it great on the sofa, it has also added new life to old leather boots and shoes, so it is a versatile product too, and well worth the outlay. Furthermore, as others have mentioned, it has a lovely honeyed aroma. Splendid product!
