The best hay in the world
I've been using Oxbow products for nearly 20 years. I have 5 house rabbits and a guinea pig and it's very important to me that they eat top quality food and hay and products that do them good. Hay is a vital part of rabbits and guinea pigs diets. Rabbits are supposed to eat their size in hay per day and a hay based diet supplemented with fresh vegetables and a good pellet food is a natural and healthy diet. Rabbits teeth are constantly growing and hay is a good way for rabbits to gently wear their teeth down. Most cheap shop bought hays are very poor quality and suitable only for bedding. Oxbow offers a variety of hays, each different. The Orchard Grass hay is generally a softer hay than the others. Depending on which cut it is, this hay can be very soft to a slightly harder hay. Bunnies with dental issues often struggle to eat hay, but this softer hay means that most of my dental buns have enjoyed it. It smells delicious and for me that is a sign of a good quality hay. I wouldn't feed my animals hay that had no smell - it's a bit like strawberries. Strawberries that smell yummy taste much nicer than those with no fragrance. In all the years I've had bunnies and guinea pigs, Orchard Grass has always been a favourite.

Fresh, green, and smells delicious
This hay is lovely and green and smells delicious, perfect for rabbits and guinea pigs. I’ve deducted a star because I bought it for my gerbils and it’s very sharp so not really ideal for them. I gave it to a friend for their rabbits and they tucked straight in.

My rabbits love this !
Well it's not me but it's my rabbits that love this stuff also the Timothy Hay from Oxbow, I have always got what I thought was the best quality hay for the rabbits knowing that this is really important in their diet as it should account for the highest portion of their diet more than rabbit food. However as I was needing hay and after reading up on how much percentage wise that rabbits should eat I realised mine weren't so after reading reviews decided to give it a go and glad I did. Ok its not the cheapest but they devour it, more than they ever did with all the other brands I tried. What I would say is that it is slightly thicker rougher if that's the right thing to say compared to other hay, not sure if that's because its from the USA compared to hay from the UK however that doesn't stop them from eating it and boy do the girls do. I got the Orchard which is slightly finer and the Timothy hay from Oxbow and give these both daily. It is one purchase I don't regret and will be buying it again.

Good hay overall
This is my bunny's favourite, so I order it every month. However, I believe it is overpriced. Once, there was a part of a dead animal that probably got into the hay during the harvest. It was very upsetting. I would expect them to ensure that the hay is clean and hygienic before packaging it.

Dead Animal Found In Bag!
Not very happy at all, there was a dead animal (a mouse I think) inside the bag of hay right near the top as soon as I opened the bag, it really scared me and my son, very disappointed and angry

Hay and water are super important for the bunny to have 100% of the time. This hay is great! Highly recommended.

My bunnies have always had sinus issues and sneeze a lot, so dust in hay is a big deal for us. Oxbow’s Orchard Grass Hay works really well because it’s softer and has fewer thick stems and seed heads than timothy hay. That means it doesn’t kick up as much dust, which helps keep their noses from getting irritated. Timothy hay is a bit rougher with more stems and seed heads, and that can make more dust when they eat it. For bunnies with sensitive sinuses, orchard grass is just easier on them. They like the taste too—it’s sweeter and not as strong-smelling. I still give them timothy hay sometimes for variety and because it’s good for their teeth, but orchard grass is the one I reach for when they’ve been sneezing or having sniffles. Both hays are fresh and good quality, and I’ve trusted Oxbow for years. The 15 oz bag lasts a while, which makes it a good deal. If your bunny has sinus troubles, I’d definitely recommend trying orchard grass hay.
