This fishing reel appearance is good, casting is very smoth, the weight is spot on and it's at a good price point. I like it because the bearings, housing, and most internal parts are made of metal. Additionally it's easy to disassamble and service. I've been using the model 33 platinum reel for years. This is a great reel for beginers and for users with years of experence fishing.

A zeb33 is the best pole for anybody trying for panfish. Best pole for kids and beginners. And the zeb33 platinum is hands down the best version, good for a backup for a pro, great for a beginner. I've been fishing for 30 years, this is always one i bring everytime and usually use the most. Cheap, reliable, simple, very smooth, and will cast far and accurate.

This reel works excellent. Only reason I subtracted a star is the drag didn't work. I repair fishing reels for a living and was able to fix it. There was also metal shavings inside. I let Zebco know and not sure they cared. Otherwise this reel is awesome. It's very smooth, casts great, and caught 6 panfish first time out with it

Hey, it’s a Zebco. It’s gotta be solid. This particular one is quite an upgrade from the plastic things I used as a kid though. It’s user friendly, works as it should, and looks pretty nice. I’d say it’s a good buy for a choosy kid, a lady who isn’t really an avid fisherman, or anyone like me who’s too lazy to use a real man’s fishing reel. It’s also well matched to a collapsible rod that can go in a back pack or car trunk.

You can't beat a Zebco 33 for taking my Son fishing. I don't go fishing hoping to catch a fish. I go fishing to catch fish. I like this model because it has metal gears and operates smoothly.

Very nice fishing reel for the money. Purchased for a hobby fisherman. The casting is smooth and the reeling in tight. It fits snuggly on the reel, was easy to mount and remove. Recommend for any weekend fisherman.

The timeless classic is good as ever. I grew up on this reel, and its as good as ever. I usually use a Shimano SLX DC, bit this has its place and I always have at least 1 around.

Taken from an email I sent Zebco... I bought this reel last month (May 7th, 2024) on Amazon BECAUSE it was a "Platinum" and it's officially the worst and most disappointing Zebco product I've ever owned in over 40 years as a Zebco Customer. I THOUGHT that, since you named it "Platinum", it would exceed the 33 in build quality and function but I was very wrong. It seems to just be a regular 33 with a bigger gear ratio (not properly done apparently) AND a silver mundane quality paint job. I have an Omega that I love and thought this would be somewhere between the standard 33 and my Omega and it's worse than an old rusty 33 from the 70s I had when I was a kid. I've lost TWO EXPENSIVE LURES because of the sudden stopping on casting issue it has. The first lure was a SPRO Creeper that cost me a total of $24 with shipping and a River to Sea Large Phantom Shad Whopper Plopper that also cost $24 when I got it. So the reel has officially cost me more in lures than it cost me to buy. AND, this all but ruined my Father's Day fishing trip that my wife planned for me. All of this is unacceptable...full stop. Upon further research this evening, I've discovered SEVERAL Amazon reviews mentioning this issue specifically and it would appear that you need to resolve this. There is no good reason for it, only excuses. Research and development should have caught it and it feels like a rushed product anyway. Also, since this IS a new product with an as-of-yet unresolved design flaw, I do not want a replacement as it will likely have the same issues. I'd like to be refunded the cost of the reel, as well as the lures lost AS A DIRECT RESULT of that design flaw. The reel cost me just under $30 after tax and with the two lures at $24 each, that's a total of $78 that I need from Zebco. ****UPDATE**** I contacted ZEBCO since I was beyond my Amazon return period. After THREE DAYS, they replied to my email just to refuse my request for a refund and reimbursement of my reel and lures. HOWEVER, they ARE replacing my defective reel with another. They gave me A CHOICE of another Platinum or a Delta. I decided on the Delta size 30 and they are shipping it to me now. So, not the outcome I hoped for BUT, it's more than I thought I'd get. I'm raising my review up from 1 star to two because ZEBCO stepped up a bit but, this reel is still not one I can recommend.

el carrete esta hecho de buenos materiales y lanza muy bien, el problema es cuando la linea tiene un poco de resistencia o ligera tension, se vuelve muy duro para recoger. Si ganchas un pez de buen tamaño se vuelve imposible de recoger, tengo diferentes modelos de spin cast y solo a este le pasa eso.
