I absolutely love the look of the linen board with my painted birds. I’ve bought several of these for my paintings.

I love these linen panels for oil painting. They have a gorgeous tone and come primed and ready to paint on.

Wonderful choice for plein air artists who paint directly (skip the transparent layer). The natural linen is a good choice for preventing snow blindness outdoors. The texture of the canvas is good for impasto and encourages you to get alot of paint and brush or palette knife texture on the canvas. I have only tried using it for oil painting but I am amazed at how many media it says can be used *even pastel), and I will certainly try that sooner or later. This is currently my top pick for plein air painting, where I tend to use a fast drying medium to help me build up layers in one sitting.

These are wonderful boards. They hold many levels of paint. Just perfect!

If you like consistent linen grain patterns and grain patterns that are parallel to the edge of the board, these are not for you. They are justifiable for practice and “sketching” with paint, but not for finished work. Especially if you use thinner glazing techniques in oils. I like to use and or see the linen grain in my work, so it suits the purpose of just piloting new processes. But would not use to show work. Fine for the price and saves a lot of time. There are very few options for pre-primed acrylic clear linen boards or stretched canvas. So they do have a place in the world if you don’t have time to size and/or build your own. Could be good for thicker, impasto (marble, or plaster or paste wax/encaustic) trials as well. But what is the point of painting on linen if you can’t admire the gain? The adherence of the backing is sub-par, Fredrick’s and Masters do a much more solid job. Ha, maybe I’m rambling, but I hope this helps someone!

Beautifully made canvases. A nice change from ordinary white canvases.

I needed one 6x8 matte to go inside an 8x10 frame and this is perfect. Although a matte normally is included with a frame this seems a rare matte size to include. Great sale price too for a 4 frame package. I know I’ll be using the other three.
