This little cutie fixed my central AC!
This little cutie fixed my central air conditioner. My external AC stopped working two years ago, and I fixed it by replacing the capacitor. Last summer, the internal AC fan stopped coming on, which really puzzled me. I opened the indoor unit, checked the capacitor, took it out, and measured it. Dead capacitor. I got this little cutie and replaced it, and everything started working happily again. I think the manufacturer designed the capacitor to last just long enough, assuming the AC unit would be replaced by then. But replacing a central AC is not only expensive—it’s also a major hassle that most consumers don’t want to deal with. If you’re a little handy, you can save both money and time. Replace this little guy and move on with your life.

Been working for 18 months with no problem
My furnace went to Valhalla after a decade of working, and HVAC scammers (apologies, I meant specialists) gave me a repair estimate of $3,500 and tried to upsell to new furnace. All it took is changing the capacitor as the old one leaked. Replaced it with this cap for about 1/1000 of the official repair cost and the furnace has been running happily for ~18 mos now. DIY rules.

Worked on Trane Air Handler
Replaced cap in my Trane air handler in attic. My old cap was reading open. New one read 14.8 and fan turned on immediately. Now have cold AC! In California this would cost $400-500 for HVAC tech to check and replace.

Awesome product
I absolutely found this product very easy to install. So far it is still going strong keeping my ac fan running. Great value I bought 2 just in case and bcuz I have 2 ac units in my home.

Just what my furnace needed
Perfect replacement for the capacitor on my furnace (I have a split HVAC system, gas furnace). Around here, an HVAC contractor would charge $229 to come out and replace a capacitor. Love being able to have one show up at my door, and swap it out myself. I have much better things to do with the $200 I saved!

Works like a champ
Didn't realize that this capacitor was getting long in the tooth. While our heat pump still appeared to be working fine, we replaced both capacitors and realized that it wasn't at it's peak. It may be my imagination, but the fan appears to be blowing harder and more cool air volume now reaches the rooms at the end of the long runs. Took all of 10 minutes to install. Just make sure to discharge the old capacitor (mine already was - or so it seemed - but yours may not), and switch out the wires. Ours was only held in by one screw. Overall, an easy preventative maintenance task.
