The Kemetic Tree of Life Ancient Egyptian Metaphysics and Cosmology for Higher Consciousness

I honestly didn’t expect this book to change my life the way it did. The Kemetic Tree of Life introduced me to the philosophy of Shetaut Neter, and once I started reading, something just clicked. It wasn’t just interesting or “deep”—it felt like I had found a real spiritual path with structure, purpose, and truth behind it. My life hasn’t been the same since! This was the first book I read by Dr. Muata Ashby, but it definitely wasn’t the last. I’ve read many more since, and I can honestly say anything written by Dr. Muata Ashby is worth reading and investing in.

This review made prior to mine is totally erroneous and full of errors in understanding of the teachings of this book. Let's start with the first statement "There is so much nonsense passed off as 'scholarship' in 'Dr' Ashby's books that it really boggles the mind." Yet this statement is made only to calumniate the author and not refute the scholarship that the author provided with historical dates, locations, anthropological evidences, Greek historical quotes book sources for statements made within his opus. Next statement "These books come out of the black nationalist movement, where fabricated history is passed off as authentic. Where every African-american is descended from the Ancient Egyptians, nevermind the fact that their tribal origins can be identified from simple DNA testing." Yet the author of the book never made the statement in this book nor any of his 60+ books of African Americans being from Egypt, on the contrary Dr.Ashby's book does state the biological fact that ALL PEOPLE ON EARTH have their ancestry from Africa and that all humanity is related as brothers and sisters. Dr.Ashby is a teacher of Yoga "union"not the racial rhetoric that the previous reviewer is attempting to place on him. The previous reviewer stated "Ashby and his ilk are selling fantasies as reality and contributing to the intentional deception of ethnic origins that have caused so many blacks to feel lost and unrooted in America." Again there is no fact in this statement merely opinion based on erroneous understanding of the teaching in this book and deep seeded issues that has given the reviewer prejudice to this opus. "The genetic fact is that African-americans came from Africa. It is also a genetic fact that they did not come from Egypt, but from West Africa." To this statement I reply again that the author of this book never made such a claim, however, many tribes in west Africa do state they migrated from north Africa and some state Egypt, so I advise the reviewer to do his research on the west African tribes and their migration there before just making such a blanket statement. Then the reviewer again makes a prejudicial comment stating "To deny this by creating some bogus fantasy origin does great harm to the ancestors of these people as well as the people themselves. This book encapsulates the worst kind of lie and propagates a contempt for tribal origins that once was the specialty of slave owners." Dr. Ashby has not stated in any way, shape, form, or fashion the origin of African Americans in particular being from Egypt. What the author has stated was the origins of the ancient Egyptians from Ethiopia and the origins of human life stemming from central Africa at the origin of the Nile in Mount Kilimanjaro and Kenya which science confirms. I would suggest the reviewer question the author himself instead of being so prejudiced and biased on the magnum opus entitled "The Kemetic Kemetic tree of life". The author encouraged feedback and questions so as to clear up any confusion and misinterpretation of the teachings, the website is on the back cover of the book and once you get on the website you can email the author instead of slandering him before you get the gist of what he's saying peace and blessings.

I preface by saying that the Teachings are NOT for everybody. Not all of us are aligned enough to be ready for what they reveal to, and about, us. In my humble opinion, Dr. Muata does a masterful job explaining the Anunian Theurgy, its relation to the Tree of Life philosophy (as taught in ancient Kemet), the involvement of each of the Ntrw, and HOW this wisdom can be used to advance us beyond the stagnation of our corporeal existence. YOU CANNOT COME TO THIS KNOWLEDGE WITH YOUR WESTERN PRECONCEPTIONS OF RELIGION OR SOCIAL CONSTRUCTS, AND EXPECT TO GLEAN UNDERSTANDING AND INNER-STANDING OF THE TEACHINGS. The wisdom in this book transcends any traditionalist ideas about what spirituality is and how it should be practiced, in accordance with the knowledge handed down by the preistly caste of ancient Kemet. Dr. Muata does a beautiful justice to the Ntrw (gods/goddesses) as he explains not only those aspects of their physical essence, but also the metaphysical nature of their essence, which is reflected in all things. His in-depth, revelationary breakdown of each step, each branch, of the TOL allows the reader to fully understand the cosmic nature of the principles as inter-independent expressions of The One All, while simultaneously bringing to the forefront the realization of these same principles as fundamental to the nature of all human beings. In addition, Dr. Muata has provided Journals and practices for the mdw ntr at the end of each lesson. I will continue to update as I complete the book. UPDATE 1: (12/16/22) I have finally completed the first read-through of this master work (finished first read-through 12/9/22), and I hardly know where to begin my praises of it. Being only a humble student of the Teachings, I cannot emphasize enough the ease and depth with which Dr. Muata painted the Teachings of the Anunian Theurgy, as presented in this volume. With even a scant understanding, one is able to delve into the reading and be made wiser for having done so. Sebai Muata gives clarity to the mdw ntr (hieroglyphics) and allows the mind to tap back into their spiritual power by presenting them alongside their anglicized translations and transliterations, forming a bridge between our ancient knowledge and our current understanding/existence. Again, I must insist that this book, these teachings, are not meant for all people at all times. One must come to this knowledge freely, without preconceptions, or at least with a mind that is willing to let false ideals fall away when they are found to be flat in the face of the ancient Wisdom Teachings. I am now to begin my second round through the text, in which what was learned of each principle is to be studied (again) AND practiced (lived), as is the process prescribed by Dr. Muata. In addition, Sebai Muata has provided a slew of exercises for journaling, meditation, altar work, etc. which allow the reader (student/initiate) to dig deeper into the teachings by digging deeper into themselves via self-reflection and reflection upon the studied principles. This is not a "one and done" type of journey. You will need to revisit the text over and over again, no matter how many times you have studied it, because there will always be some new layer of information revealed and lain bare. This study guide is not about a class or a bit of reading; it is about a fundamental shift in mentality and, therefore, lifestyle, which will bring about clarity and purity of mind and spirit. *****BE WARNED: Once you begin these teachings, you will never be the same. This knowledge will make you uncomfortable with your complacency.*****

So much effort, love and wisdom has gone into this piece of work. This is the 1st piece of muata ashbys work I have started to read, I can't put it down it makes so much sense to me. Since starting this book I have ordered 2 more of his titles. Absolutely mind blowing, I'm so very grateful this knowledge is in one place, as soon as the book arrived I wanted to get to work. This piece of work is put together beautifully, a truly beautiful insightful knowledgeable piece of work I have had the pleasure to read in a long time. Very highly recommended this book. My only grumble is with Amazon who damaged the book while it was being delivered.
